If I touch the brakes, i.e. squeeze my joystick’s trigger, does that in effect cancel the auto-braking? I usually set it to 2 at St. Maarten, deploy fulls flaps just before touch down and have the spoilers armed and ready. I aim for an approach speed of about 160-175 knots.
Lawndart,
I’ve noticed that the only time the auto-brake disconnects is on the LDS 767 and PMDG 737, I think. Your approach speed is fine for say 10nm out but when you get closer (4-6nm) reduce the speed abit, too about 140-145 depending what your flying.
I flew to SXM on FS a few weeks ago in a MD-11 and 744 and braking was easy, I used 3/4th and didn’t even have to backtrack!
HTH,
Sam
BTW, is there a default keyboard shortcut to the thrust reverser’s in FS-9? I often find myself fumbling around the centre pedestal/ throttle quadrant at the most inopportune of times….
Keep your finger on F2… It’s easy to land at SXM – Come in as slow as possible, not too slow though as you’ll end up stalling. Full flaps, full reverse, auto-brake 2 or 3 or even max and your fine.
With the semi-circle at the end of the runway, try using 1 engine to turn-around, makes it alot easier.

Whoops :diablo:
Thanks guys! 🙂
Is Air Baltic an affiliate of SAS or Snowflake ? That livery looks similar… ???
Yeah, I think they do have something to do with SAS – Most of the annoucements were “Operated by Scandanavian Airlines” If you look on the Fokker 50 close-up, it has a SAS logo
Why do Air Baltic aircraft have an arrow on the foreward fuselage – are the pilots that ****** that they don’t know which end is the front? :diablo:
Never noticed that! 😀
It whent to Paris instead… We should see it sooner or later though.
Nice shots there mate – Dust spots are really easy to edit out, i’ll tell you over MSN.
Thanks guys!
Northen_Git, yeah it’s the dreamliner colours 🙂
Great shots as always guys! Not stopping in Indonesia  😀

Aer Lingus’ livery on the A330 is awesome! Great shots aswell Gary, you’ve improved alot.
OK, failed miserably!!!!!An aircraft went tech in the US and they shuffeled the pack so we didn’t get the new livery.
That’s the last time I give you any hot “gen”!;)
I’m a bit upset that I tried to give you a “heads up” and I was let down.Rgds Cking
Don’t worry about it, these things happen all the time, it can’t be helped!
Also if anyone knows whats operating MON7174 /5 this summer on the MAN-CFU route departing 22:40.
A320 most likely. I was on that flight last year.
I may be up for it depending on money as I have to pay a big trip off this week. I’ll decided about a week or two before the trip is – Does anyone fancy a trip to Lanzarote though? Beach, sun, beer :diablo:
