Dan, so sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts are with you.

I think it helps avoid confusion if there is more than one storm in the area.

Fantastic. Made me laugh but its very true 😀
But somebody brought a Morgan – on a trailer
What’s that about?
Moggy
I enjoyed seeing the vintage cars, as did my stepdad that attended Shuttleworth College from 1962-1964. He saw the car that he did the London to Breighton run in whilst there and spoke to one of the mechanics in charge of it. It was really interesting, not only for him and me, but also the mechanic. As for that Morgan on the trailer……it was a special edition, only one of a few made etc so the owners felt it safest for it to travel there on the trailer. I didn’t get a response to why didn’t they remove it from the trailer once they had arrived. 🙂 I guess it comes down to owners choice at the end of the day, but it really stopped any ideas of me taking any photos of it.
Today was a day full of emotion – sad at the passing of a friend and fellow forumite, but there were moments filled with laughter, remembering Steves sense of humour, his knack for telling bad jokes etc, but as someone said they thought that Steve would like it if new friendships were formed today, and they were.
My thanks must go to Mark and to Ian for what they have done – in organising the Chipmunk display and the book of condolence (sorry if anyone else should be included here)
The Red Lion was an experience I will not forget, the sound of laughter, the noise of people talking to friends or forumites they were meeting for the first time, which for me included Vanessa, Snapper, Steve Patterson, Auster Fan, Yak11Fan, and Moggy, just to name a few. One of my best memories of the time at the Red Lion was the time I spent talking to George and Snappers dad – what true gentlemen.
Steve may be gone, but his memory will live on.
RIP Steve, Sleep well.
The advice you gave me will not be forgotten. I will continue to take each day as it comes, as you advised me a few months ago.
I think its wonderful that the thread had renewed interest in it after it was initially posted last year.
My grandfather (Captain Richard Shepherd) would have been pleased.
What a great looking guitar, and superb price. Hope it brings you hours of enjoyment:D

Mark will send you something in the next few days. Thanks for organising this, it can’t be easy for you.
If anyone lives in the Ipswich/Colchester area and wants a lift to go to Steves funeral please PM me
Great photos there. Some of those you could have made into postcards or cards – they would look great.
Thanks for posting them, you have brightened my day up:)

I was thinking the same thing. He influenced an awful lot of us, maybe without knowingly doing so, but his level-headedness, his humour, patience and love of life, his family were always present when Steve was around. His advice was usually spot on…….Steve, Thank You for being you, for making our lives a lot more enriched for having known you, You are missed.:)
Words can’t express what we feel right now. Our thoughts go out to Julie, Haydn and his family. Just can’t believe it.
