Hi Steve,
Hope you are feeling ok today. Sorry to hear about your illness.
We do find your posts interesting.
I really hope that there are no hard feelings. As Ashley said her post was meant to be humourous,as was mine. Sorry it didn’t come across that way – sometimes emails can do that but that’s why smilies are a good thing to use! 🙂
Best wishes

Hi Steve,
What a great question.
I for one have a difficult time explaining to others that my husband doesn’t drag me to airshows, but that women can be interested in avaition too…Role models of Carolyn Grace, Anna Walker amongst others, as well as those females involved in transporting aircraft to their new squadrons etc (ATA).
I explain that I like learning about how things work – the mechanical side of aviation, then about the aircraft themselves – well that easy – a history lesson in combat techniques, designs of aircraft and so on. Then you can talk about certain more famous pilots etc, squadron mascots and so on.
I tend to find people will mock if they have no understanding of the subject – role reversal is good – I might get talking to someone that loves football (I’m a rugby fan myself) so they then explain their love of football to me…its all about educating people…
Some people might view us as plane spotters or anoraks, but that is their opinion to which they are intitled to. I know at the end of the day, we are learning new stuff at every airshow, museum we go to, and that we have met some truly fascinating people and that I won’t give up my hobby for fear of being an anorak! 🙂 (I’m an anorak with gortex lining!) 😀
Hope you understand what I’m trying to say. Off to get another lemsip!
Have a great day,

Sounds good, although I am but a novice! It might be an idea to have different categories etc…
I guess practice makes perfect so I better get the camera out then as I need plenty of it!
As you said, some of the photography is simply stunning, and have raised the odd goosebump now and then!

Well, if you didn’t like what you were reading you didn’t have to finish reading the post did you?
Some of us use this to a) discuss avaition matters and b) chat/rant to fellow members who we count as being our friends. Some of us have just simply had a bad day, made slighty better by recieving replies to their post, by friends, who I for one have yet to meet in person.
I for one Steve am not whinging – just worried sick that I might have MS and have to give up my Nurse Training!
Hope your having a better day, as I said in my earlier post Tomorrow is another day! 🙂

Sounds like a good idea flood, I just can’t believe how uncaring some people can be. I know I really don’t want to go on that placement at all, but will have to get the courage to turn up on Monday! Just think I still have 8 weeks of their delightful company – I really doubt I’ll maintain my good assessment marks, seeing as I’ve got off to such a great start with them!
Oh well, off to get the Guiness!

Ashley,
Sorry that you had a bad day, but you made me laugh, for which I thank you….why did your bad day make me laugh? cos that’s happened to us today (crazy driving) and to top it off I phoned my placement to say that I was ill (bad cold, no voice, being tested for MS amongst other things) so really not feeling great – Their response? Still come in! Nursing = the caring profession! Told them I’d notify my college and see what they would have to say about possibly infecting nursing staff as well as the patients so got told to phone them back with the colleges reply…they could report me for not turning up! Arhhhhhhhhh(me shouting at the top of my voice!) so fed up I could cry!
Oh well I guess tomorrow is another day.
Have a good night – Planejunky’s put the Guiness in the fridge for me already! Well trained he is! 😀

so many ideas popped into my head after reading my initial post – oops! 😉 – well it’s livened my evening up and got me motivated to do my nursing assignment!
Well, I’m right where I want to be. Either in the middle or high (percentage that is! :D) Oh er could open myself up for one or two replies me thinks!!!
Accurate? Spot on! No need for self help classes this week!
Many Happy Returns, Hope you have a great day,

Hi,
Have had a look on various websites – the only thing that I could think of was putting a post on the 380th BG message board and see if that got any replies.
I hope that this helps.

What great photos. Thanks for sharing them. My personal favourites have to be the TR Mk IX Spitfire and the night time pic of the Lanc.
Any more?

Our thoughts are with Flt. Lt. “Jarvo” Jarvis and his family, as well as with his Red Arrows family.
🙁 It’s a struggle to find the right words, but lets hope he gets some strength from knowing that lots of us are thinking of him and his family.
My thoughts are with you Flt. Lt. “Jarvo” Jarvis.
