Sitting here in tears, a beautiful poem, thanks for posting it Jethro. It was poignant for me as I too lost a feline friend whilst on holiday.

I got back from Spain last night after being there 3 weeks. Whilst I was there I did one of the hardest things in my life. My parents have lots of feral cats where they live, about 6 or 7 of them. One of them a beautiful ginger tom, called Liso, who has been around our house for the past 5 years or so, as a kitten, so he wasnt too feral. Well to cut a long story short he somehow got poisoned. My stepdad and the builder were in tears at the state Liso was in. They knew he needed euthanising, but they couldnt do it. My mum cried and said that I was to do it. So trembling I went to see what I could do for Liso.

I saw what I could do for him, maybe clean the poison off him but it was everywhere. I phoned a vet for advice, he told me drown it as it was feral. I couldnt, he was a familar friend and his offspring were getting fed by us every day. I did what I had to, and I tried to make him comfy on a blanket. We were having a dinner party for my stepdads birthday so it was all systems go getting food prepped. I didnt settle, made my excuses to go sit with Liso. He died in my arms, so he wasnt alone. My mum asked why I was crying and how I was responsible for killing him. He was dying anyway, it was just kinder to assist him with an injection, but it tore at my heart. I cried on and off for about 5 days, but cheered up when Liso’s offspring came up and wrapped themselves around my legs – I took it as a sign that I did what was best for Liso and that I was ok as a person by their standards.

My thoughts are with you Paul, losing a cherished pet is hard, but I hope you find comfort knowing that Pebbles had a good life, one that you gave her.

Take care, sorry for the long post, just had to get my guilt/sadness off my chest.

Good luck to the guy. Hes a person, he a footballer, hes a marketing toy as its already been said. If my boss in the NHS came up with an offer like that I would take it:D

Sticks in my throat a bit that have just worked out how long it would take to me earn 128 million and it would take 800 years, so dont think I will still be around to see that milestone!:)

The F-4S was essentially an updated refurbished and slatted F-4J, and had a very short career with active-duty fighter squadrons, soon being replace by F-14s.

This was taken from a book titled – McDonnell F-4 Phantom – Spirit in the Skies. Edited by Jon Lake and David Donald. It really is an awesome book – well worth adding to the collection:)

    What a nice looking website.

I always try and chat to Rod – he is a truly lovely guy, always has time for a laugh or two. Really surprised by his artwork – never knew he was that talented. There are several pictures there that I would love on my wall.

I hope his website and his art work really does well for him.

Well there are some women that attend air shows because they truly want to as they enjoy it… the planes, the flying that is – not the endless stalls selling crystals, or magnetic bracelets or any such other toot.

Trust me, I get really wound up seeing people walking round various air shows looking like a bulldog chewing a wasp – if you dont want to be there , dont go! – its that simple.:D

Common logic might assume that the last 54+ years might be referred to as Elizabethan again – since the Queen of the Realm is indeed an Elizabeth by name.:D

I think its a good initiative. Good idea with the sticker so people know who the nominated drivers are, as when our local pub tried this intiative loads of people saw it as a way of getting free soft drinks all evening.

Soft drinks are for kids…..well actually some people are allergic to alcohol so they need soft drinks! But still take on board that if you all want to drink alcohol – get a cab/taxi.

I live about 4 miles from Copdock, its quite a surreal atmosphere in Ipswich I can tell you. Tried to comfort my best mate from college today – she knew two of the murdered girls – I couldnt find words of comfort – I tried but words fail me right now.
