Lol. Just thought you might want to know that the “high-quality” film you pointed out is scenes from the movie Iron Eagle.
:p
Negev sqn birds, some of the depicted might have been among the Osirak raiders.
A discussion about evolution, I’m sorry I missed this …
As plawolf says, evolution is one of the soundest theories out there. With our current ability to sequence DNA and proteins it has become possible to trace human evolution back in history and to locate our closer or farther “relatives” among other species on this planet. This work is in no way complete, and there are still many points of disagreement, but evolution is as good a theory as they get. Take perspiration for instance. The mechanism that allows our bodies to produce enegy through the use of oxygen is practically identical to every oxygen breathing creature in existance, even lowly bacteria.

Skythe,
Amir Nachumi, the top Israeli ace did flew Mirages in that wars? or he flew another type such as the F-4 Phantom.
The official IDF/AF tally credits Nahumi with 13.5 kills, giving him and Asher Snir the third top spot among IDF/AF aces. He didn’t score any of his kills in the Mirage though, he’s a Phantom and F-16 ace.

No, this is an Arye (Lion), a design IAI toyed with prior to the Lavi back in the late 70s. Erez posted this long ago.
No special scheme, no lovely scenary, just one very successful Mirage.
Where? I couldn’t find it …
BTW, any information if the I’s are going to make an appearance (flying or otherwise) anywhere on Independence Day?
Nice one. Where did you get it, Erez?

Thanks for that pic, Skythe… but you know that it’s dangerous spreading such pics around when i’m in the area, don’t you 😉
Sure, that’s why I’m keeping the realy gory ones for myself. This one for instance, Valley 072, was back on duty a week after this belly landing.

That first bad one is Valley 088. Made quite a spectacular landing but is flying again.

Perhaps I should have made myself clearer, I wasn’t actually asking for current pictures. Any good picture of Lebanese Mirages, any time, any place, would suffice.
Any good photos of Lebanese Mirages out there?

The orange Catalina, which has been resident at North Weald for several years, is now in the hangar being readied for a ferry flight to Israel.
No sh*t! When is this supposed to take place? And what is this all about? The last I’ve heard of it was back in 1998 when a Catalina was supposed to show up for the IDF/AF 50th anniversary events and to reside in the IDF/AF Museum.
Any details would be most welcome!
Nothing is inevitable, Turkey is not lost, but how do you expect to win it over to your side when you’re not even willing to put up a fight? Oh, they’ll sell you their oil, but when the prices are triple their current rate, you’ll discover that the money you need for border surveilance is not so easily come by. Not that it matters, since with a negative birth rate and aging population, Europe needs the immigrants. Without your help to solve their problems at home, they’ll just be importing it into your heartland, border control or not.
But all this is entirery beside the point. All you’ve dealt with are the examples, not the core of the issue. You assume your spheres of interest and that of the fanatics are mutually exclusive. This is hardly the case. Your interests go far beyond your borders, and neither do theirs stop on your frontiers.
Democracy will not arrive in the Middle East overnight, but that does not make it a cause unworthy to fight for. You think Muslims are unready for Democracy? How will they ever be when you’re not even willing to help them get there? The problems will not disappear simply because you choose to ignore them.
You keep bringing up World War II analogies in your arguments. “Not our problem” was a very popular argument back then as well. When the Germans entered the Ruhr, when you took over Austria or Czechoslovakia, with the Japanese in Manchuria, the Italians in Ethiopia and Fascists in Spain. Wasn’t Europe in for a surprise, huh? Appeasement doesn’t work, Europeans should be the last to think so.
