So where does the could bring down aircraft come from?
Take it out of the box and throw it at the propeller :p
Shades of ‘the Guvnor’ on PPRuNe some years ago……
Yes, not a Turbo F, unfortunately. Now they are very nice!
I’ve got some other shots but I can’t post them yet, you know the score mate 😉
Some of the day’s action…..
Cool! I’ve got a few of Dad’s bits and pieces from his time as an RAF exchange officer at Wright-Patterson in 1958, mostly Proto wrenches; also a home-made pick-up tool that was my Grandad’s. They’re very precious to me, even though I’m not spannering these days.
Is a Prangin like a fly-in but with harder landings….:D
(I’ll get me coat!)
Love your photo collections muflon, keep ’em coming 😎

“Yeah, I’ll have a Euromillions ticket. I think I’ll pick 1, 5, 18, 38, 45, with a 4 or a 6” :p

Maybe it was his best attempt – just imagine what the others might have been like!
The case echoes another in Greece in 2000 in which local authorities jailed a group of 12 British planespotters after they were arrested at an air force day function.
They were found guilty of espionage charges but their sentences were suspended pending appeals.

Just to give the full details of that particular story, the ‘Kalamata 14’ as they were known at the time, later (all bar one) returned for their trial and the case was dismissed. Also it occurred in 2001.
..and Biman are still flying that DC-10! Some great memories there, thanks for posting 🙂
There were some instances of malfunctioning lifts on L-1011’s, but the most unfortunate incident was the death of flight attendant Karen Williams in a World Airways DC-10 en route to Gatwick in 1981. She was trapped when the lift went up as she was partially inside, trying to move a drinks cart. A damaged switch meant that the safety override was not working.
“The airplane was flown into the airport five years ago, but spent two years at a nearby shop undergoing $2 million worth of repairs and interior renovations.”
Looks like Mr.Newton’s spent about the same amount on repairs and renovations to his phizog…..:p
