    if i read another inconsequential bird strike report with a closing remark comparing it to the hudson crash i think i’m going to scream!

    It’s just the usual media Airbus-bashing. Mostly propaganda out of the USA. They did the same over the A340 ground accident at TLS in 2007, making out that it was all covered up.

    Just been told that, after 40 years, AR213 has left Booker, and will now be based at Duxford.

    One thing that struck me as being somewhat ironic; Kate’s grandfather noted that he came under attack from Allied fighters during the march from the POW camp – probably by Hawker Tempests that her other grandfather had been so involved with……

    Excellent programme, btw.

    Just curious; why 1/11 scale? The obvious way (to the uneducated, i.e. me) would be 1/10 which would be easier for calculations?
