A very sensible decision, albeit a hard one to take; we had to keep our Tigercat a Duxford for a few months more than the new owner might have wished for, but by the end of August the North Atlantic weather is deteriorating fast and even for a twin it’s a big ask to make that trip.
Legends ’09? we’d love to see it there!
“…and not let this discussion get out of hand!”
Ooooh, go on, do….I love a good punch-up 🙂
From the Met Office;
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Heavy rain will soon spread from the south on Friday, along with strengthening southeasterly winds. Continuing very unsettled Saturday and Sunday with further heavy showers or longer outbreaks of rain.

Typical Duxford weather then!!
I particularly like the Debden shot with the GI’s installing the Merlin. It would be interesting to hear from a USAAF mechanic how they got on with the Spit’s bits and pieces, if their previous experience had been on the “simpler” American types.
We used exhaust wrap from Demon Tweeks on a flying P-47,so it’s well up to the job.
Didn’t stop you having another moan tho’…
Fascinating stuff as always, Jack; why don’t you just stay over here with us when WIX comes back up!!!
Well, let’s not get too Impatient about Virgin rebuilds…
Whatcha doing over here then, Jack? 🙂
Full details of the restoration will be in the Airworthiness Approval Note for the aircraft when the CAA publish it; just search here for AAN 29130

Must be true if it’s on the Web :diablo:
Tiny conkers……:p
I’ve got an inlet (I think?) stub somewhere which came from a box of Auster bits…looks like Lycoming. I’ll dig it out and post a piccy, although probably not today – it’s somewhere deep in the shed of doom along with half a million other pieces of what James May delightfully describes as ‘Mancrap’ 🙂
Tough luck –
I wonder if they want to sell the canopies…..
Well, it’s here now and offloaded. There was some fella taking pictures first thing. Looked like he was a Hawkwind fan :p Pictures on the “Bogspot” later…..;)
Still on course for tonight, may be held at the M25 until rush hour is over.
We’re going to bung a 4360 in it and sell “Race Day Experiences” to punters at 2 grand a pop. :dev2:
Oooerrr here comes Dave I’m off……….:p
