Yes your right will be very interesting to see how tgv competes on a trunk route. Buzz are only really offering more regional-type routes

I see TNT quite a bit at LPL 146s and 727s but seeing a Tu-204 would quite nice, if it comes our way !?

So Love air are defo still in business then !, quite a long flight in a j31, although we could do with an improved service to JER and a direct link to GCI from here (LPL)and a J31 would be ok to start such a route. Not enough capacity for summer weekend ops but a year round daily serice, would be good.

When I used to work for American Express Tvl we opperated a charter for ICI from MAN to MME using Air Kilroe J31. I don’t know if it still flys it was several times a day

I agree, I noticed MME service to LHR is now 3 per-day, it used tobe 5. Regional serives to the capital should not be lost, I dont think other European countries would allow this to happen so easyly. There is even domestic air services in The Netherlands, even with their fab rail system !

Didnt Love air fly from Biggin Hill to Le Touquet ?? I thought they had gone out of business, they had J31s I think, if its the same firm ???

I dont know for sure but Air Uk dropped their GCI-LHR route and I think BA has shifted their JER-LHR to LGW ?? They are all island connections to the mainland and they just lost their LHR connections. There are also numerous mainland UK airports which have lost their LHR links. It amazes me really, when you think AMS have far better regional connections to the UK than LON in general !

The VC-10 was just so much more gracefull than the 707, Its a shame it was not a success ! I wish that I had the opportunity to fly on it, but im a little too young !! I think many of the European made aircraft of that sort of era had style, Caravelle for example.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-03-02 AT 04:08 PM (GMT)]I live in Cronton near Widnes Cheshire, Cronton is semi-rural but Widnes for the most part is industrial and not picturesque ! My home is about 15 mins from Liverpool Airport, which is now great with a fab new terminal and getting busier and busier. I come from Bexleyheath Kent and still have interests in the lesser known southern airports such as Lydd and Manston. Have flown from Lydd years ago to Beauvais and Ostend. Will be going back to BVA soon on a special 1-11 day-trip from LPL

Hey maybe VLM would be good contender to take over from BD on LPL-JER this year. In 2001 there was an increase in passengers LPL-JER over 2000, but BD wasnt getting it, their share dropped and the charter operations took more. However the service which BD offered was nothing special, they certainly were not trying to develop the route.

Is anything operating out of Shoreham for the summer??

I agree more info about regional airports, your comments are really interesting because I don’t know too much about what is going on in Birmingham, I went their once and quite liked the place, also flew on a small airline which operated LPL-LGW a few years back, they stopped en-route at BHX. It was a J31 I think it was Community Express ??

Do you know what is happening at Coventry, any passenger operations at all ??

My local airport is Liverpool, we have a spanking new terminal, Ryanair is to launch a Brussels route in June and Easyjet are saying that they are making an announcement about a Paris service very soon.

I also visit Blackpool sometimes, Keenair who fly twice a week LPL-ORK have taken over the Blackpool-Isle of Man run recently

If it had tobe economy class I’d go KLM rather than BA, because LHR is far less user-friendly than AMS…….and AMS is cleaner !

Well I live 15 mins from one of the “out of the way” airports Liverpool, and Im glad they have come here. They are doing very well on all their routes from here and are taking considerable amount of business away from those airlines such as BA etc who have said there is no demand from this airport ! Rubbish !
