RE: Manx Airlines
Im not sure if they may problems at IOM for 737s etc. I know it sometimes suffers from cross-winds on the approach.
RE: Manx Airlines
Ive not heard anything about exact about what BA plans are Lpl-IOM. This was Manx Airlines busiest route so we shall see, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do not offer the same amount of services. Manx often add extra flights at busy times i.e weekends, football matches the TT etc, I would be surprised if the new regime is so accommadating.
BMi have cut there summer sunday service LPL-JER, I understand there will be charters operating, Last year it was Brymon and British Regional so I guess it may be the same for 2002
RE: Future of 146/Avro RJ?
When there seems tobe so much interest in regional type jets its a shame that BAe should throw in the towel. Was it too expensive to operate compared to the popular rear twin engined types ??
RE: Manx Airlines
Yep, forgot about BE I know they had a LCY-IOM service wasnt sure if it was still operating. I know they pulled off BLK-IOM last year I think. I dont think BA Citiexpress will be that serious about serving the IOM, will have to see what happens. I know quite a lot of people fly over to Liverpool from the Island to travel onwards with Easyjet.
RE: Airports!
My nearest airport is Liverpool, and its fab now, has a great new terminal. To see aircraft Im not sure yet as its not all fully open yet, however I know where to got to get good views anyway
RE: BA – What to expect?
I would say not too much, pretty average service, what are you flying on do you know ??
RE: BAC 1.11 trip
I have booked on the LPL-PAR day trip today. I also have friends in Paris so it will be nice to see them and to fly from my local airport instead of MAN with AF/BA. Its also fun to go on a 1-11 again a truely successful British made airliner !
The Last time I was on one was Ryanair LPL-DUB
RE: Ryanair sign 10 year agreement for new base
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-02-02 AT 06:59 PM (GMT)]So far they do not clash destination wise. Their route networks are quite different, it would make sense to keep it that way.
p.s how was your visit ???
RE: Only Three likely to survive in Europe?
I cant really believe that this new “Swiss” airline is going to start up and try tobe 4th biggest in Europe I think they said !! Sounds a recipe for disaster. it may have made sense to join forces with Austian to cover that region. For years OS just flew DC9 in the European and mid-east area only.
RE: Airport pic of the day-05/02/02
Good pic, have flown through LCY a few times…..its a nice airport and a bit of an oasis for London airports !
RE: Ryanair sign 10 year agreement for new base
Brussels Charleroi does seem to be comming quite a hub for Ryanair, I understand a Rome link will also begin soon.
RE: Monarch new livery?
I think Monarch do need a face lift, but I hope they don’t got too brash, cant say I like the “My Travel” scheme or JMC. A little bit more style is whats called for !
RE: Ryanair in Cornwall
I agree, I hope its a great success, its always hard for less main-stream airports to get noticed by airlines and introduce new routes. Liverpool had a link to Newquay in the early 1980s with Genair, but no-one has re-established that link. Your right about the long runway, so maybe Ryanair may add more routes.
RE: Holland
Ryanair will be starting a service from Eindhoven to Stansted in April, twice daily
RE: Ryanair sign 10 year agreement for new base
I always support my local airport if I can and will use them if I want to travel to Belgian (or any of the other destinations they may launch). Sabena never offered any connections from Liverpool, Ryanair have put their faith in serving my airport so they get thumbs up from me.
VLM for a while flew from London City to Liverpool and made a complete hash of the schedules and lost a great deal of local support to their service.
