    RE: Euromanx competes with BA

Its true it would be quicker and cheaper to go over to Manchester to get to Scotland, although a direct Liverpool – Glasgow/Edinburgh link could be very desirable.

    RE: Euromanx competes with BA

Can you beleive this, I heard of someone who wanted to fly up to Liverpool from London recently. He phoned BA and was told yes, you fly LGW-IOM-LPL. Im sure it connected but one wonders if the person in BA reservations whos where Liverpool is located and the fact there is another city about 40 miles away called Manchester where they operate to from LGW and LHR !!!

However I still think a link between Liverpool and London by air is desparately needed. took me an hour and a half to drive from North Liverpool to Manchester Airport rcently on a Friday afternoon to get a VLM flight to London City. Euroceltic have reinstated Waterford – Liverpool flying over from Ireland on a Friday night then back on a Sunday night. The plane carries on to Luton so it is possible to avoid the rail chaos ath the weekends, but its not what you would call a regular service.

    RE: Sheffield City

I dont think anything is operating out of Sheffield at the moment, probably the last services were Jersey charters

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-11-02 AT 05:11 PM (GMT)]In your opinion would you say it was better for IOM residents, when you had Emerald operating against Manx/BA on IOM-LPL. I seem to recall they had some quite reasonable fares available at the time. Its bad when people who live on an Island or somewhere remote with little choices available to them get penalised and charged inflated fares. Im thinking of place like Inverness as well, before Easyjet offered a London link.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-11-02 AT 11:19 PM (GMT)]I have flown on EI several times on short and long haul routes. I think they are fine, I very much liked their A330s also flew on one of their 747s from JFK several years ago. The service, food etc is good, not exceptional, but good

    RE: JET2 Routes

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 14-11-02 AT 05:36 PM (GMT)]I have had quite abit of experience of Easyjets low-cost ops from LPL.Although I have not flown on them to Palma as yet, even with charter competition from LPL and indeed MAN, their LPL-PMI route has high load factors and does very well, normally 2 flights a day, during the summer. I would have thought JET2 would prove similar.

    RE: Coventry Airport expansion???

i have flown into Coventry Airport twice both from Liverpool en route to Guernsey when Air Corbiere operated a passenger service. I know Ryanair operated from there also briefly I think to Knock with a BAC1-11.

This news should give Leeds/Bradford a big boost as Easyjet did for Liverpool

    RE: Manchester Airport

    Hi m8

welcome to forum, let me know what you think of BMI to Chicago. I would like to try them out to the US. I flew AA once from MAN to CHI and back and wasn’t impressed. BMI have nice new A330s as well, I have frown on an Aer Lingus one DUB-BOS and back and that was very pleasant.

    RE: Competition to IOM

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-10-02 AT 04:52 PM (GMT)]I understand there times are as follows LPL/IOM at 0900, 1545 & 1900 and IOM/LPL at 0800, 1030 and 1700. The price is from £129.oo rtn inc tax. This seems a bit high, I think BA would have some lower fares available. Im not too sure why they are doing this route really, they must have their reasons I guess ! I would have thought they could have improved their LPL/ORK service or thought of somewhere else to link up with.
