    RE: Europe’s Worst Airport?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-08-02 AT 06:56 AM (GMT)]I would agree LHR is bad and in particular terminal 2 and 3. I can’t understand you, picking LPL, thats just crazy. The new terminal building is fantastic, much better than the old one and better than anything over at Manchester which incidently has apparling for queues and catering. Walking in the rain, I live in between Manchester and Liverpool Airports, and just because Manchester has jetties thats no guarantee you will walk down one. Most carriers at LPL board at the front and rear steps which means you get on quicker anyway. Although the west on England probably receives more rain than some other areas its hardly a monsoon and is really not an issue for anyone using the place.

    RE: Easyjet

No I dont, but I did fly with them recently LPL-CDG which went fine, full flight. You arrive at CDG Terminal 9 which is away from the main terminal area, at first I thought it seemed abit “on its own” and not too nice. However I flew home on Air France CDG-MAN the queues at Terminal 2B to get through security were horrendous and the flight was over an hour delayed, so maybe termianl 9 is not so bad after all !

    RE: Alitalia B777

Nice pics, just wondered if Alitalia would introduce a new livery sonn, the design is getting a bit dated, especially for a country which is very into style and design

I went to Split years ago when I was a kid. we flew out on a JAT Caravelle from LHR and back on a JAT 727-200. It was a lovely place and I would like to go back. some of the Adriatic Islands such as Brac are very nice as well.

    RE: Liverpool

Im afraid im not sure. Easyjet fly scheduled that is correct, but im not aware of any other. There are several charters from Liverpool to Palma I would have expected it tobe one of those.

    RE: BWIA

I think the Tristars may be intially operating into MAN on that route. BWIA may well be the last scheduled operator of the type into the UK

    RE: bmibaby CWL routes announced

We are hopeful for a Liverpool – Alicante route starting up with Easyjet, I notice they have announced the launched of a LGW-ALC, so I think its likely to follow on. BMI baby to Jersey is interesting as Easyjet made noizes about this a few years back. I think if BMI baby gets whats they want, Easyjet may look at the routes to Jersey again, who knows ??! We could certainly do with a better LPL-JER service.

RE: SriLankan to Colombo from LHR

I flew LHR-CMB a couple of years ago with Sri Lankan and thought it quite good. I going to Sri Lanka again at the end of December with the same carrier. They also use Terminal 4 which is far better than the others at LHR.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 24-07-02 AT 03:20 PM (GMT)]Increase at Manchester will cause massive protests from the surrounding area which is green-belt, plus the residents of such well-healled areas as Knutsford, Alderley Edge and Mobberley.

RE: BA Vs. low cost carriers!

The point is had we never had the likes of Ryanair and Easyjet etc we would all be paying more. I worked in the travel industry for 10 years, when for the most part you had to use BA etc and tickets cost much more. Things started to improve when Ryanair and Virgin began Luton to Dublin the rest is history.

RE: BA Vs. low cost carriers!

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-07-02 AT 09:58 PM (GMT)]Ryanair uses 737-800s they are new. the series 200 are on the way out. I really dont think on a short European flight that BA’s service is much different, in economy, certainly so called “free” food is nothing special. Club is a complete waste of money on short flights and only really comes into its own on long-haul when the difference is noticeable.
