That Shackleton pic is superb 🙂
Found this link Alison
Well if its the one I am thinking off then it would of been either Mk.IX PL344 or if its was a grey colour then it would off been Rolls Royce PR.XIX the Modern plane its not a RAF Beech King Air at all?
James
Spit was deffo camo so must have been PL344 in that case and having researched it yes it was a Beech King Air.
Thanks
Over Hildenborough Kent today about 2.45pm –
First an invasion striped Spitfire (too far to see better details) followed by a four ship formation of TFC’s P-40, P-39 and Corsair formating behind a modern blue/white twin engine with high T tail.
Any ID on the Spit or the modern aircraft?
One of todays movements –

I am afraid to say that without a deep knowledge of the site that I cannot add much more other than what I found.
There was one dispersal hut further west by about 200 yds which had a tree through its roof and an Anderson next to it.
The one in the pic above is one of two next to each other. The one with the boards in was next to the one shown. With no artefacts or decoration they look quite bland sat there and its only when you find gems like these boards that you realise where you are so to speak.
Underneath the dispersal with the boards and the one with the tree in the roof there were underground shelters with escape tunnels direct to the outside. The one in the ‘board’ dispersal had a further hatch leading to an earthen tunnel which had caved in / been infilled.
Unfortunately vandalised over several years they will be no more in 24hrs time
Puts mine to shame 😮
Where was your vantage point for those terrific shots?

Great Pics there from Beachy Head.
I went today and weather was scorching but now they are charging a £5 a head there was a distinct lack of people on the beach!
Will post some pics when I have sorted the wheat from the chaff!
Great pics Foto4
Thanks Terry,
I get down there every so often and there is always something there I havent seen before like the moth here. I only live a few miles up the road so should try and get there a bit more often than I do – watch this space!
I’m with the Timmy Taylor brigade on this one as opposed to that glass of false ale and chemicals!
Thanks very much and absolutely right!
Fantastic sight they were too just wish I had a camera with a better lens on!
Dave
Thanks Paul,
Thats definately them – shame I didn’t have a better camera than my Fuji S5500 with me as I was doing fauna and flora at Thurnham Hill!
A fantastic sight and certainly one to remember. They looked great. I hope someone gets the chance to get some decents pics at Old Warden while they are there.
