Apologies. Not sure why the video started part way into the video.
It’s great news. It would be nice to see 3 Lysanders again, but one thing we will hopefully hear again is the sound of 6 Mercury engines flying together in the shape of the Blenheim, 2 Lysanders and 2 Gladiators.
Been trying to get through a backlog of films that I have bought over the last few months.
Total Recall (Arnie version)
Loved this film when I was younger, though some of the effects don’t hold up so well now. Still better than the Colin Farrell remake.
The film tells the story of a construction worker who suddenly finds himself embroiled in espionage on Mars and unable to determine if the experiences are real or the result of memory implants.
Good Morning Vietnam
My favourite Robin Williams movie. He stars as a Radio DJ, who the troops really like, but infuriates his superiors.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
One of the best looking CGI movies of its time and still holds up today.
The Spirits Within follows scientists Aki Ross and Doctor Sid in their efforts to free a post-apocalyptic Earth from a mysterious and deadly alien race known as the Phantoms, which has driven the remnants of humanity into “barrier cities”. Aki and Sid must fight against General Hein, who wishes to use more violent means to end the conflict.
The Italian Job (Michael Caine version)
Comic caper movie about a plan to steal a gold shipment from the streets of Turin by creating a traffic jam.
Mary Poppins
Based on P. L. Travers’s book series Mary Poppins. In turn of the century London, a magical nanny employs music and adventure to help two neglected children become closer to their father.
Die Hard, Die Hard 2: Die Harder and Die Hard With A Vengeance
Die Hard is my favourite Christmas movie of all time. Starring Bruce Willis as John McClane.
Die Hard -John McClane, officer of the NYPD, tries to save his wife Holly Gennaro and several others that were taken hostage by German terrorist Hans Gruber during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles.
Die Hard 2 – John McClane attempts to avert disaster as rogue military operatives seize control of Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C.
Die Hard With A Vengeance – John McClane and a Harlem store owner are targeted by German terrorist Simon Gruber in New York City, where he plans to rob the Federal Reserve Building.
In response to DazDaMan’s post.
Love Leon and is a film in my backlog that I have got to watch.
Kevin Smith is one of my favourite directors, especially his early work, then he seemed to lose his way from Jersey Girl onwards, though his TV work on Flash and Supergirl has been good.
I believe it maybe Bolingbroke 10038, which was the aircraft the crashed at Denham and IIRC was under restoration for the IWM as mentioned in the link below.

Spaceballs
Mel Brooks parody of Star Wars, Staring Bill Pullman, John Candy, Rick Moranis, Mel Brooks, Joan Rivers, Daphne Zuniga and many stars in cameos. Loved this film when I was a kid and still find it very funny.
Saving Private Ryan
Haven’t watched this in a while and it is still as amazing as when I first watched it. The D-Day scenes at the beginning are amazing and with surround sound it sounds amazing as well.
Think the DM has got their facts mixed up again as usual. The missile that the TU-22 will deploy can travel approx Mach 5, not the bomber.
For those in London, I checked my tv’s channel guide and couldn’t find channel 94 on freeview even after re-tuning. This is because they changed the frequency that some of the channels come through on in March and you made need a new aerial that picks up those frequencies especially if your aerial has been up for a long time.
N1940K is an Allison engine replica IIRC.
Some photos have appeared on Facebook of ARCO’s Lysander.

I believe what Aeronut is talking about is that they have shortened the arms on the floats to allow for the use of the hall for things so people don’t hit their heads. Don’t know how it is criminal damage as it is their aeroplane to do with what they want and I would like to think they have removed the originals and had new shorter ones made. I don’t see a problem with it. If they can bring in revenue by renting the floor space out for things, it can be only a good thing, just like Duxford does with part of the Aerospace hangar.
As I said on post 38, they are waiting for steps they have commissioned for the Sunderland to allow access as before but the do not know when they will arrive. See comments on the above link.
There is a comment from the RAF museum on the picture on facebook that says they are having a set of stairs built for the Sunderland.
Had the BBMF Lancaster fly over the house. My Aunt says she saw it the other day so not sure if it overnighted at Northolt.
Had most of the flypast fly over the house except the helicopters, Atlas, Reds and the BBMF, though I saw the BBMF in the distance.
Solo: A Star Wars Story
Telling the tale of Han Solo and how he met Chewie and got the Millennium Falcon. I enjoyed it and it was good to get some back story on a well known character.
