Mon have not been in for training for quite a while, but in the past we have had Mon 767, A320 and A330 equipment in for training flights.
Also lots of other training flights, I guess because the place is underused at present and DSA are glad of the extra revenue.
Regular appearances are put in by Flybe (mainly Emb 195), and now deceased UKI 767. Also Oasis 747’s when the wind at Manston isn’t suitable.
Saw it at BLK on Sunday after returning from Alicante with Jet2.
I saw it at Palma on Fri 21st Sept. I was on G-CELF ready to fly back to LBA – got a photo of it on the PMI apron with 757 G-LSAD in the background, (in all white scheme with red tail).
It is thought that the company is trying to consolidate all its Yorkshire operations from it’s base over at the nearby Robin Hood Doncaster-Sheffiled International Airport on Long Haul routes with its Boeing 767 Aircraft. (Which so far dose’nt make money and has low passenger usage.).[/URL]
Where do you get that info from? Dominican Republic has been dropped from DSA for next summer, in common with other uk airports. Bookings were, indeed, poor. Florida and Mexico bookings though, are good enough to ensure that the flights are in the schedule for S 07, and we all know that TOM don’t continue with routes where they don’t make money.
No probs Charley B – the FM thing baffled me too at first!
Sounds like a cracking day out, and the photos are top class.
Has anyone managed to get a shot of the A 300 up at Yeadon yet?
I have had a 7100 for about 2 months now (bought second hand). – the guy that sold it to me showed me a trick with the arial connector to boost the signal. This works with all 3 of my antenna.
When the antenna is fitted on to the scanner, twist it back very slightly, as though you were taking it off again. Turn it slightly, until it begins to feel a bit tight. If you do this while receiving a transmission, you will see the signal strength bar jump up appreciably. To me, this is a fault on my set, but it does the same on my mates, so i dont know if it is just a few sets, or all of them.
I also had a Maycom, and that outperformed the Yupi, until i started using this trick, and now the range of the Yupi is so good, i can get Doncaster tower transmissions from my house, about 10 miles away, which is even better than my faithful old realistic pro 63 scanner.
I advise not to, i got stung a millons of times down there and a man walked down and buy the end he was covered in blood, it like a overgrown jungle.

Yeh, next time i go down there, i’m off in my fishing waders 🙂
I like the plane, prefer a 170 though.
Are you?
Why?
There was a 747 used for the Lourdes flights from Doncaster DSA a few weeks back and had air mediterranee flight codes
There was indeed, it was a Corsair (TUI) 747-300. Shot of it at Doncaster in the link below.
The Doncaster and Cardiff route has been axed, the aircraft that was due to operate the flights was stuck in Beruit so they have juggled the existing fleet for Donny in August but the remainder of the season is scrapped. I had 18 bookings on the flights in September and we were advised by Sunways today, so I’m not a happy chappy today 😡
I also heard this, on another forum from someone who had their flight cancelled, but the fact is that the aircraft turned up on Sunday and did the flight. It appears that it arrived from Belfast, then out to Girona, so looks like it is now planned for a split load.
The E195 what an ugly plane.
Are you blind?
I believe GSM have announced a Liverpool – New York Newark service for next year.

I live in Doncaster now, being originally from Leeds. There are plans for an access road from J3 of the M18, through Rossington, but this has not been given goverment funding yet. If it happens, it will probably be around 2010. The level of traffic to the airport dosn’t yet justify the expense of the road (said to be £60m).
Try the link to the unoficial DSA spotters site below, for the full story on the link road.

The level of damage suggests that quite a speed was involved, must have been terrifying to be in.
