    Hi Mike,
What is your source for this info? I had been expecting the T-33 to go elsewhere.
    Regards.

    Graham

I’m sure it will also end up in Krakow when they send them the B-25, TBM and T-33 next year.

You will need to contact Everett Aero direct with regard to prices.

    Graham

Is this one still for sale, if so, how much ?

Do they keep all their aircraft at Bentwaters ?

Cockpit is 90% complete and she is electrically live.
Yes, both are under cover at present but the Jaguar will be towed outside when the museum is open.

    Graham

It certainly looks as all the effort has been worthwhile, how complete is the cockpit ?

Do the Phantom and Jaguar both have roofs over their heads ?

Who said anything about it being left outdoors?

Seems a shame to leave it outdoors.

Agreed, it would look fantastic at Bentwaters in 512th FIS markings. I’d like to know how that is able to be sold when they usually fall under the jurisdiction of the NMUSAF’s loan programme?

    Yep, that is XV460.

    Graham

I’m presuming that this is XV460, which is now with Everett’s at Bentwaters?:

They definitely aren’t at Bentwaters and no one has ever tried to do a deal with me about locating them at the Museum.

Whilst flying over foulness about 10 yrs back i noted the collection which was located at the far end of Island.
Since then it has moved on. Last i heard the owner was trying to do a deal with the museum at Benwaters.
But i believe the collection may actually now be stored in one of the former HAS shelters on Bentwaters.

The markings on the 41 Sqn and 6 Sqn GR.3s that I’ve seen stored at Bentwaters over the years were certainly decals as some (most) were fading and peeling off.

    Graham

I’m not sure whether it was a decal or not; and certainly on the photograph of the repainted markings the ‘checks’ also seem to have been reversed as well.

The next time I visit NAM I’ll have a look on the other side as well – I’ve gone through all of my photographs from since the time it arrived and I’ve only ever photographed it from the ‘sunny-side!’

Looks like the Colt paint shop have used a starboard decal instead of a port one!

An incredibly hard day’s work on the day for very little reward/profit for the organisers. It isn’t an ideal venue for a large airshow due to limited parking spaces for cars. We reached critical point at the 2010 show as we weren’t expecting that many visitors.

    Graham

I wonder what happened to the Bentwaters Airshow ? They only had one show, think it was 3 years ago when James May was walking round there ,what a very very popular and great airshow ,one of the locals was heard to say ,this will be the only Air Show held here ,the locals are moaning about all the traffic noise and the people here ,but we were told it will be held every two years ,then guess what NOTHING , anyone know the real reason why they had no more shows,im sure they didnt lose money over staging the show ,seems like a few locals moaning spoil it for the many !! i would say its an ideal venue for an Airshow ,i went to the show,s years ago when the USAF were there ,great times !!

Had a look at that site David, and I am bemused by the fact that they have an F-4C for sale…assuming it is for sale? It opens a whole can of worms as that should be a NMUSAF loan airframe?

I think it’s well known that the USAFM (as it was then) blocked our attempt to bring back an ex-81st TFW F-4C from Torrejon when the Spanish Air Force had approved it, citing that we weren’t eligible as we were a private organisation and not government-run. So, to see one in the hands of a private dealer is a bit of a kick in the teeth! 🙁
    Regards.

Graham – it might be worth contacting PS Aero as they have had an F-84F for sale for a long time now !
