Thank God no one is injured. Planes are also safe. Because there are high explosive stuff stored in the cargo hangars they are approaching from above to put off the fire.

I am netiher clueless nor liar. Rather i am suspicious that you are the second since you are too noisy as usual.

I suggest you read the following document which will give you a basic idea about our problems.

    http://www.raaf.gov.au/airpower/publications/doctrine/aap1003/highres/Ch_2.pdf

about innocent passage of warships read page 3 2.8 which stated that any country can block innocent passage for security reasons. In a place like Aegean when Greece for any reason blocks our way, we will be suffocated. This is a serious security matter for Turkey.

in page 9 you will read 2.16 2.17 you can see that it is up to the country that will travel in an other FIR to report or not.

I have no time to write more. Read an learn please 😉

    Edit:
    Oh and btw you said:

As an unnamed Greek F-16 pilot said to me:

“…It won’t be an “accident” if someday we have a MIDAIR
COLLISION in the Aegean with a blind greenhorn that the last thing on his mind is “training” and instead his objective is to violate every ROE regarding the 1000 feet Bubble, speed and altitude, in order to force us to make a fatal mistake…”

Wasnt it the Greek pilot who hit TuAF airplane from behind and below? so it was him who aproached and broke the rules..I feel sorry for his family and kids. Lives shoulnt be thrown away like this.

Dodgy as usual.. Anyway i see no reason to discuss this furthermore cause the differences are too big to solve in an internet forum.

But the status of all the islands is already codified with various treaties.

That depends on how you read those treaties.

The problem is one side does not respect them. As they do not the relevant ICAO regulations/treaties.

Exactly as you dont respect your signature in demilitarisation of Aegean islands.. We all know the number of the brigades you have on supposedly demilterised islands according to Lousanne, Montro and Paris agreements?.

It might very well take a collision with a civilian airliner to open the world’s eyes to the belligerent nature of the Turkish state.

It might, thus Greece should consider its position and heed to what we say, we should solve this problem. Lets take the whole Aegean package to Hauge..

The ‘problem’ is that Turkey is apparently unhappy with the current status quo in the Aegean. I believe Turkey is a country big enough to fit its 65M population and its access to the Aegean sea is not being threatened/restricted.
Instead of insisting on territorial claims against Greece, Turkey should concentrate on meeting EU admission criteria. This would improve the prosperity of the Turkish people more than geographic expansion.

Take a look at 12 mile map. And tell me how do we access Aegean sea, or how Turkish or Russian navy gets into Med without crossing Greek or Turkish territorial waters or taking a very long detour.

Every each one nation in the world has the right according international law, to extend its airspace and territorial waters until 12 miles offshore . Greece has defined them at only 10miles of airspace and 6 miles at sea. Even turkey has its air and waters at 12 miles offshore at the black sea!

This is not a solution. Lets say tomorow Turkey demands from Greece to acquire Creete. What do you expect from Greeks? to give the half of the island so everyone to be happy???

Petros Turkey has inceased 12 miles at Blacksea because we have sit around a table with all countries who have shores on black sea, negotiated whats in best interest of everyone. Greece on the other hand onesidedly wants to exercise its rights in a very extreme place in the world. Not only Turkey but also all nations that have shores on Black sea will be effected by Greeces such exercise. Look how Indonesia&Australia, Australia&Papua New Guinea who have similar problems solved their differences. They sit down and negotiate. With current Greek behavior that arrogantly says its her right to do whatever she wants, i am afraid we will loose more valuable men.

I heard in another forum (a turkish-greek one) that the Greek pilots canopy was probably smashed so he never made it out. I dont know if its true but its a very sad event.

I hope Turkey and Greece overcome their differences and find a solution to this problem before more valuable lives are lost on both sides.

    Dear Fedaykin,

American interest in Central Asia is not a secret. The latest “new cold war” talks we had seen on the news last weeks is a reflection of this interest which is the main tool of USA to block the monopoly Russia has in natural gas market. Turkey is once again the most favorable ally of US in this scenario, having ethnical & cultural ties with these Central Asian Turkic States. According to the recent developments, both Khazak and Turkmen gas/oil will flow thru BTC pipeline into Israel and Europe. So it is not surprising to see increased US presence in Caspian region which will seriously bother Russia and Iran.

As for your Turkish ship building question, i am definetly not the most knowledgable person here about this matters. I personally know some Turkish members of this forum with much greater knowledge in the matters, however i am not sure if the forum allows pure navy topics anymore.

The corvert you mention is MILGEM Patrol and Anti Submarine Warfare Ship. Besides Pakistan , Ukraine is also said to have interest in the project.

On a side note, Turkey had earlier supplied Azerbaijan with 2 Turk class patrol boats with similar operational capabilities.

Well in a countries territorial waters even warships must fly that countries flag. I think this is an international rule. Another thing is i think the ships were delivered to Khazak navy by Turkish Navy not Korean Navy, hence the ships carry the Turkish flag.

For your second question, I the weapons of choice are Western ones and the boats were fitted with those here.

    Infact in SSF user Modus said;

Kıçta Bofors veya Breda 40/L60 veya 70 (muhtemelen 60) top, köprünün arkasında muhtemelen Rheinmetall 20 mm toplar var.

    Tranlation:
In stern Bofors or Breda 40mm/L60-L70(probablyL60) & behind the bridge probably Rheinmetall 20mms.

This might be for maintenance issues since i believe the spare parts / ammo of the weapons might be supplied by Turkey.

The ships are of Korean design and were readied at Istanbul Shipyard Command and delivered to Khazak Navy. The ships will be taken to Azov Sea by ships and then from there they will get into Caspian sea via various canals on rivers.
Information and pictures below are taken from posts of valuable members of Savunma Strateji Forum.

30.03 / 11:29 3 more Korean patrol boats for Kazakh Naval Forces
AKTAU. March 30, 2006. KAZINFORM /Nadezhda Ivanova/ – Yesterday Kazakh Defence Minister Mukhtar Altynbayev met the crews that before long will depart to Turkey for the Korean ships for the Caspian Naval Forces of Kazakhstan.
According to the administration of marine forces of the “West” area command, three patrol boats from Korea will be delivered by the bulk-carrier as far as Istanbul, Turkey and then through the Sea of Marmara, the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov will arrive in the Caspian port under their own power.

The crews that navigate the boats have got special training and currently practice in the Institute of Naval Studies of Aktau city. They will depart in the beginning of April.

Mr. Altynbayev noted that it was planned to purchase and order ships for the Naval Forces in the future. In particular he stressed that Kazakhstan had agreements with Russia, Turkey and Korea.
