I have been to both museums. There are both listed in my aviation museum / site locator which I simply call the “Locator”. It can be found at…
http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator.php
It has decent coverage for about 2/3 of the U.S.A. and all of Canada, New Zealand and Australia. I have not done much Google Earth hunting for sites in Europe yet, so for that reason I hadn’t mentioned this tool on this forum yet. However, if you are planning a trip to Canada or the US to visit aviation sites, this might be a useful trip planning tool.

I was able to walk around the airframe last Saturday evening in a hangar in Geneseo. I didn’t see the wings (must have been stored elsewhere), but the fuselage appears broken (bent at least) immediately behind the cockpit. There were leaves in the engine openings.
I didn’t witness the incident having just left the airfield to check in at the college dorms.

I am glad this pics have been enjoyed. I had fun finding them. It wasn’t too hard as I was using a tool I call the Locator…
http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator.php?Region=NY
…it is still in it’s infancy and unfortunately doesn’t cover the UK and Europe
very well yet. I hope to work on those sections starting next fall.
John: Thanks for the correction. I have editted the post above, the Travelogue page and will be correcting the photo album soon.
I do have some questions about serial numbers…
#1: BuNo of the F9F in Tonawanda?
#2: S/N of the UH-1 in Wheatfield?
#3: S/Ns of the C-47 and C-119 at the Niagara Falls ANG?
#4: S/N of the UH-1 at Freedom Hill Park in Sterling Heights, MI?
I have a copy of USA Military Out of Service on order, but it has not arrived yet and I am too impatient. 😉
Mike
Thanks gents. All good tips.
I could easily break the video into two parts if you think that would be better. You Tube has a 10 minute max. What is a practical limit? Multiple parts is not a big deal as my site queue’s up the next video in the series with the “Next” link. You can also back up with the “Previous” if active.

I clearly should check my messages here more often. Most of my spare time is spent with VWC and my website now, so I don’t spend time reading the messages boards like I once did.
Are any of the aircraft going to be at Yankee or the Gathering of Legends this summer?
The Corsair will be at Oshkosh.
Nothing at Yankee.
Four aircraft to Geneseo; Hurricane Mk IV, Fox Moth, Mustang and Staggerwing.
The Mustang will be going to Legends.
They are also off to Baggotville this weekend with a few airframes.

I forgot to mention that pictures from the Open House last Saturday may be found via…
http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Travelogue.html#2007
…although not an airshow, it was a good event just the same.
Mike
That is great news. I am so impressed with Mr.Potter and his commitment to
preserve Canada’s aviation history. Any word on when the F4U Corsair will
arrive?Thanks!
The Corsair will be arriving at Vintage Wings this Thursday at around 5 PM weather permitting.
Mike
I would like to see you again. The first open house is June 2nd. The Lysander can be viewed then, although it may not be reassembled by that time.
Mike
Scott is just fine. It was only a coincidence they had a crash on the 1 year anniversity of the most users on-line at once. They were “upgrading” the database that runs underneath the interface and have had some troubles. The are working feaverishly to get the problem fixed and WIX back up.
Mike
Great news on a P4o and a Corsair. I wonder what markings they will acquire eventually?
I have been told the P-40 will be something similar in appearance to this model…

But I note they state it served with the RNZAF. Wrong, there never was a 78 Sqn RNZAF. This is an RAAF machine through and through.
Sorry about that Dave. I have corrected the error above. No matter how careful one is, these mistakes get through, even with proof readers.
Mike
looks great with a power cart plugged in
Keith showed me one of his living rooms in his house and the loft of his garage. Both were full of aviation “stuff”, photos, bits of equipment, book & magazines, models, etc… Keith said people would hear that he collected these things (no surprise with a CT-133 in his front yard) and would often just drop stuff off that they didn’t want. The power cart may even be one of those things that was left on his door step one day.
It likely would not surprise you to hear that he is a friend of Harold Carlaw, the guy that has the Memorial Military Museum in Cambellford about an hour away. I think both of them are cut from the same cloth. Both are interesting gents to talk to.
Mike
Mike is that T33 runnable?
No. Keith is (or was, I haven’t seen him in years) a truck driver with access to flat beds, etc. He picked it up a CFB Mountain View himself. He told me the wings had be cut off. Being a resourceful kind of guy he trucked it all back to his house and managed to put it back together. At the time it was a hobby just to keep it looking good.
Mike
I see SL721 still has her cannon bays fitted out to take baggage.
I think they are planning to do something similar with the Mustang.
Mike
But I can’t find any info about it’s serial.
Thanks anyway. It is very much appreciated.
