This is also a repeat of a very similar described engine that was for sale a good few months ago.Unless the man has more than one so described (he is very lucky).

    SCAM ALERT BE VERY CAREFULL.

I and a few others have received messages purporting to come from either Ebay or Paypal using our email address BUT NOT our paypal or ebay ID. Stating we have received payment for goods we have sold on Ebay one being a post man pat vehicle th eother being an Aircraft Engine. It then has links to view the transaction.

DO NOT CLICK THE LINKS ETC. These are scams to do nothing but give unwanted visitors on your computer and also to give other people your ebay and Paypal information ,passwords and your account details. !!!!!

I looked at it twice and very nearly pressed a button then realised I dont have anything currently for sale !!!!!!.

    The Nasties are about again.

Also that engine is not as described it has been opened up and stripped of anything of use,if you look at the pictures you can see this has happened.

if I recall correctly from my time at Coventry two or three of the DC3 fleet actually still had the
fittings and part of the gear mounted on the rear bulkhead under the tail cone for Glider towing.
I cant remember which ones but think it was some of the spraying ones and not the passenger freight ones.

It was all hectic at the time I recall we had to do a major wing mod on 11 airframes in about 2 weeks and man handling a DC3 wing is not funny and all those damn bolts.

I wonder about their statement to return to fly and carry fare paying passengers.

Was this not the reason Air Atlantique could not continue with their DC 3 passenger operations because of changes and EASA regulations that meant daft things like the aircraft would need escape slides and oxygen.Totaly daft I know but I think this was the issue that the DC3 fell into unfortunately.

Ah. So then does anyone have details of the armoured cover.

Is it armoured ?? the two we have in the workshop original genuine ones certainly aint armoured one from a mkII the other from a MK V. You are very welcome to have a look at them in fact one belongs to Dumfries and needs to go back up there if you are passing you can then measure it to your hearts content.

If I want something I follow the advice given to me by Bill T (WV903 on this Forum): put a massive bid on it at the last moment (that you can afford, of course) to win it. It doesn’t mean that you end up paying that if you win it, only the bid increment above the next highest bid.

Works for me, and I rarely pay more than I want to.

    Anon.

    Mike

will you please contact me I have been trying various ways and dont seem to get you.

re vampire pod not in very good condition if you look carefully.

And it is noted no instrument panels seem to be in place .Are they there even ??.

No panels and fittings and damage could make it an expensive lump of

ply and balsa when you take into account transport.

Absolutely bonkers idea.. so I for one love it! How can I help? Once the Whirlwind is done I’ll be looking for something even more unlikely to get involved with.. the Empire boat might have to wait.

We are going to need a bigger workshop !!!!!!!!
