    is it this cessna ?

Yes, that’s it. Same colour scheme. My instructor said my final approach was “attack on pearl harbour steep”. Thanks for the photo link.

A great loss. I will, however, look back in admiration at his wonderful flying, in some cracking aircraft. A spendid influence upon us all.

I’ve been flying from Monewden since April, having moved up from Stapleford & Earls Colne . I still can’t find the place, half the time, and end up finding Debach first and going in from there!

1st flight : Dan Air BAC 1-11 in about 1980 on a charter flight to Majorca.
1st proper flight – Cessna 172 G-BKLO at Stapleford, Essex with my Grandfather in 1983. There is a pic of this A/c (since re-painted) on the CAA’s website.
    1st Solo – 04/01/90 Cessna 152 G-BOOI at Stapleford.- Can’t find the photo.

I’d get hold of a copy of the book referred to above and drop Aldon P. Ferguson a line. I wrote to him years ago when researching the history of a particular Meteor TT20 a/c. I got a very helpful reply down to the pilot, time of departure and so forth. The bloke seems to know his stuff.
