    The Do-228 customers:

    Maldives
    Mauritious (spg?)
    Bhutan

Of late efforts are being made to market the MPA version (one with the israeli radar).

In india apart from civil operators we have:

    Indian Air Force
    Indian Navy
    Coast Guard
    Possibly BSF

Attached is the picture of Indian Navy’s IN234 – only known pic of IN Dornier with the IAF lo-viz camo

    Nice topic!

How about the F-104 vs MiG-21s in 1971? The scale of ops ofcourse was very small compared to the VW.

The Arab-Israeli conflict should be at the top too.

thx for that H. I have seen another sequence of the jag firing the Magic but it was white and much clearer (this one appears to have been taken in the dark). Do you have a scan of the Mirage firing the Super 530? (it adorns the HQ of the No. 1 sqn walls 😎 )

What is find more interesting is the escape they made from Goa – IIRC one DC-6 and one Super Connie. The IAF did not destroy these hoping to captre them but bombed the airfield. Well they took off in the night without repairing the runway. 😎

But where the ‘K did they go? Middle East? An absolutely must know account IMHO.

Sabres? The orange putter of a Canberra had once detected a aircraft clocking supersonic speeds. PAF F-104s perhaps.

Will appreciate all info on this conflict from the Port. PoV!

Is the missile customised for over-wing use?

    Hey Portugal,

this one is especially for you!

Portugese AF flag captured by Indian force in Goa (1961).

    just for fun! :p

But seriously, do you have any info on the Portgese side of the story? Some pilots did pull some daredevil stuff in that 2-day ‘war’.

BTW, India manufactures Do-228 and has even exported to a couple of countries!

Are there any other examples of over-wing launch? Why dont the French aircraft have this feature on their Jags? Certainly saves a hardpoint – even if it causes stress on the tail.

Jaguars are already compatible with Magic-2s and Aim-9s. What about the ASRAAM? There was talk in recent times of the IAF acquiring Python IVs for the Jaguar and Mirage-2000 fleets.

Is it is so good then why such a limited production?

What has it been replaced with?

Sorry for so many questions, first time reading seriously on this aircraft. It seems that every time I have read about it words like “valued” or “popular” come alongside it.

It still needs fuzzy dice dangling from the framework though.

    rephrase please!
