well we are buying the a model at us~65mil, we have allowed au75mil
but even at your inflated price, 200 is still cheaper than what france paid for the rafale, someone did the maths and it was ~300mil each
Someone should learn maths…
all you have to do is build better planes with better tech than america, how hard can it be
Why?
I don’t believe the T50 is as groundbreaking as it could have been (holds breath), but it certainly is far more of a threat than Typhoon etc were originally designed for. So in the next 10 years, what will Europe produce?
AESA radar´s and MBDA METEOR´s. You wont see operational T-50´s in sqn´s in any meaningful numbers for the next decade.
A lot more than that. A modern HMD coupled with a moden LDP allows to designate an air to ground target with one single look, and in some cases it even calculates automaticaly the GPS coordinates of a certain point.
Cheers
Well, France has got a lot of merit, facing so much people… British, Americans, Swedes, Italians, who else ?
Un village peuplé d’irreductibles gaulois résiste encore et toujours à l’envahisseur…
😀
Will a mixed Tory/Lib Dem Government still have a strong hand at the negotiating table?
Conservatives and Liberal democrats in the same government, what a strange mix. Its going to be a very entertaining season…
djcross :
djcross , this is where many people from various countries say “”stop the bull…t .
It is claims and nothing else . The toolsets and analysis to develop the F-22 are telling LM that the F-35 is a dog :diablo:Of course , as far as I am concerned , Europe Carriers (UK , Spain , Germany , Italy) should have gone with the Rafale (or Trafale) .
By trying to sink the European aircraft industry and making big money , LM only wrecked the entire US future fleet by giving them … a dog
.
Talk about wishful thinking…
Don’t worry — the main purpose of this thread was to keep you guys too busy to ruin the other threads here… :diablo:
😀
Beautiful…
AASM today doesnt have a laser guided version. The development contract for the laser version was signed this year.
The first inertial/GPS guided shot was in 2006, the first Inertial/GPS/IR guided shot was in February 2008, they have already validated the 250 and 125 kg´s versions.
The first operational drop in A´stan was in April 2008.
Cheers
I mean out dated weapons by not having a a SDB equivalent I didn’t stutter, you know what I mean. Couple that with no ability to drop JDAM and SDB from range and the Rafale starts to look ancient.
Ever heard of the SAGEM/MBDA AASM?
They have been droping those in A´stan (both the GPS and IR versions) for quite some time.
is 2012 now? LOL it didn’t come out of the assembly line with an AESA you know what I’m talking about.
Yes, i actualy know that you dont have a single clue about you are talking about…
Those AESA Rafales will hit FOC YEARS BEFORE the F-35 does. And if you want to speak ABOUT NOW, please enlight the rest of the forum, how many of the delivered F-35 are carrying the AN/APG-81, how many went supersonic, how many have cleared 20º AOA, how many have shot the AIM-120, the Jdam, etc, etc?
God, the entire JSF program has roughly passed 4% of its flying test hours, doesnt have cleared absolutely anything bar very basic flight profiles and you try to compare THAT with the French hardware that is flying on combat units for years?!!!
I am going with Swerve on that one, what have you been drinking?
I meant the Rafale doesn’t have an AESA, and lacks the integration of the F-35.
Unless your being sarcastic
No?!
Then what the hell is that on the B301 nose? Cement?
The AESA radar for the Rafale is tested, flown, ordered with a production contract and operational units are going to start receiving it from 2012 onwards…
Western Europe is under a real serious economic crisis while at the same time there´s no efective conventional military threat. Guess what happens to the defense budgets? They go down.
Thats happening for quite some time, the prospects are even worse for military spending
By the way, the US is embarking on the same route.
I am just tired of the Typhoon vs. Rafale debate. If you look at the economic situation in Europe, I doubt France or the EF partner nations will have the money to invest in up-grades that are not needed. If you want to look at it in a positive way on another aviation forum people are just discussing if Greece should by Tiffies or F-35s in 2012.
Sanity just entered the topic…
The folks that are buying the F-35 aren’t relying on the open source brochures. The figures on those brochures are going to err on the extemely conservative side with regards to the true capabilities.
HMMMMMMMMMMMM…
Going THAT route, the likes of the latest incarnation of the Flanker series becames a frightfull adversary (or any other recent combat aircraft, actualy any recent military system).
Unless we believe, that somehow, LM presents conservative figures while the rest of the world follows a diferent policy…
