MS733 Alcyon, a pair of them displayed at the last Coventry Airshow, in fact that could of been one of them as it carries the paint scheme.
That’s the one, flown by Ian Austin doing his second display of the day. Obviously some people don’t read/listen!
Throroughly enjoyable show, I’m glad it was a success.
At a guess I would say BBMF Lancaster and 2 Spitfire’s as they are down to do a flypast at the Town & Country Festival at Stonleigh today and tomorrow.
Good luck, lions have been informed.
Now that’s just plain nasty………………too the lions! 😀
I agree with Dan and James, it is a LaGG-3, the LaGG-1 was never actually produced.
Farewell P-47D “No Guts, No Glory” 🙁 you will be veery missed 🙁 🙁 🙁 Hope TFC hurry up with P-47G Little Demon I want to see her in the Air to make me happy again 🙁 😉
James 🙁
You seem to be making a lot of fuss about it’s going, when was the last time you saw it flying!
TT, Steve was there on Saturday and at OW yesterday, its only a flying visit.
Pete, the actual policy at OW is that they are not allowed near the flightline or in locations that obstruct the view of other visitors. It was late when I posted the above.
I agree that some of the people the ‘other side’ will be local families but not all, when I left yesterday during the balbo there were a dozen or so cars parked on the road to Thriplow with people watching and not a camera in sight, I assume these were locals.
On Saturday the police moved off all the people standing in the field opposite the Land Warfare Hall, I dont know if the same thing happened on Sunday as I was down the other end.
The Windbreak issue needs to be taken up with IWM as does the ‘media’ wandering about in their orange vests as this is nothing to do with TFC. Old Warden doesn’t allow windbreaks or tents so IWM could do the same if they wanted to.
The people in yellow vests are either media escorts or working on the aircraft. You can’t really complain about the tractors used to tow the aircraft, the tankers being there or the mechanics, if they hadn’t kept working on the P-47, it wouldn’t have flown!
I believe the P-39 has still got a problem with the radiator which is why it didn’t fly and I don’t think it’s flown since Legends 2005.
I don’t think the Swiss B-25 was invited but I could be wrong.
As for the suprise, I believe the TFC tried their best but were thwarted so were pretty disappointed themselves.
Ant, Pete Kynsey flew lead in the Tigercat on Saturday as usual so I assume it was him on Sunday.
Sad state of affairs..
14 Spitfires + 1 Seafire
Only 2 Hurricanes, would have been 3 but for the American sale !!.. Which Aircraft shot down more enemy aircraft than any other defence system?? ..
There is 3 Hurricanes on the list, HAC, RAC & BBMF, so your point is meaningless really, even without the TFC one going to Canada, there is still 6 flying in the UK!
Rob, I’m pretty sure the Revell kit is not from the Frog/Novo moulds as I think they only took the moulds for the Axis aircraft that weren’t already in their range.
The High Planes kits are ltd run so need a bit more skill, of the others they all offer a fair representation of the Boston/Havoc.
Kingkit is currently showing the Airfix, Frog & Matchbox kits
http://www.kingkit.co.uk/kingkit/index.php
I sold my Airfix and Matchbox ones on eBay back in March.
Kev the Italeri one is 1/48.
I’m using AVG and Zonealarm and I’ve still got the problem but only if the photos are posted as thumbnails.
I can see them now, thanks.
I can’t see these either, having had a quick look through some other threads it seems to be photos that are posted as thumbnails.
No I have got exactly the same problem 😡
