Some good pics there Merlin70.
Ref your new lens, would you recommend the supplier?
Thanks for sharing Stieglitz, looks like it was better than Duxford yesterday! A nice mix of vintage aircraft.
Have you tried Midland Counties, they have a large selection of second hand stock and have just brought up all Books International of Farnborough’s stock.
It is best to fax or write for second hand stuff though.
When I first read it, my first thought was grab the camara, and go to Stoughton as I was going into Leicester anyway to put a deposit on a car. Then I reread it and realised what Skybolt meant!
Thanks for sharing these everybody, especially like the I-15 start up!
Some nice pics there, how did you manage to get a clear photo of the Lockheed 12, mine have them polishing it!
Albert, I think you are talking about Legends predessor Classic Fighter, the T33 was a regular in the Korean war section!
Duxfordhawk, the first Flying Legends was a 1-day show on May Bank Holiday Monday
1993 with Classic Fighter in the July, in 1994 Flying Legends replaced Classic Fighter and became a 2-day show.
Excellent photos! thanks for posting them.
My highlights were meeting up with members of the forum for the first time and spending an enjoyable afternoon with them. A very friendly bunch of people!
Thanks to Damien B, Robbo, MOTF, Von Perthas, Andy In Beds, Met24? and special thanks to Andrew-O for his help with the umbrella and Steve P for his generosity.
Flying highlights in no particular order Corsair duo, Mitchell duo, Rapide formation, I-15
P-39, Super Connie, Lockheed 12, Spitfire tailchase, BBMF Spitfire duo, Mustangs and as other people have mentioned the Balbo looked tighter this year!
Overall a varied content and a good all round display, well worth the money I thought.
Thanks to TFC, the owners and the pilots without whom we wouldn’t have the event.
Mine would be the Stormbirds ME262, and all of those already mentioned of course.
I am sure the information has been posted on another thread, but I believe the Swordfishes won’t fly this year, likewise the Sea Fury which has engine problems but the Seahawk’s seat harness has arrived and they hope it will be flying in August.
No doubt if any of the above is wrong somebody will say.
Neal,
Elsewhere you say you got there at 9:30 and only had to wait 5 mins, as you live in Leics can I ask which route you took.
Niall
Scotty
I headed that way but I stopped and asked a copper on the A41 what the traffic was like, he told me there were long tailbacks that weren’t moving due to sheer volume so I turned round and went home, this was 9.45.
Looking at some of the guestbook entries I made the right decision!
I contacted Sigma by e-mail last month on the same issue and there reply was, if I had proof of purchase it was £5 p&p, if not £33.99.
Average turnaround was 2-3 weeks from receipt of lens.
Hope this helps.
Niall
I live north of Brunty and it takes me about 30/35 mins to get there and about 1hr 25 to get to OW.
Hope this helps!
