My first show was Duxford September show 1984, a friend suggested we go just for something to do. I don’t remember much about it apart from a CH-53 but it re-started my interest in aviation.
My next show was Bent-waters in 87 and this is really when my interest in airshows started, my main memories were seeing a Vulcan fly and the rain!….Oh and Burgers!!!

Rob, well I managed to find you at Duxford(or should I say you and Nick found me) but missed you at OW the next day. Andy and Andrew explained that you were playing hide & seek the other side of the fence.

My interest started in the late 60’s when we lived in Hounslow, under the flightpath for Heathrow, and then when we moved to in the early 70’s. Lost interest in my teens when I discovered the 3 B’s, then it was rekindled in 1984 when I attended my first Duxford. It just continued from there although I don’t have much of an interest in Modern Airliners or Military jets anymore.

Thanks for the info, I keep looking at their site and their prices are very good, but some of the online reviews state that some people have been asked to pay VAT when collecting from the post office.

I take it that you had know problems like this?
