Many thanks for your quick response. I think the bone of contention was the fact that, originally, the text said that the plane flew back to England and that P51s converged on her over the channel, taking the famous photo. This is apparently incorrect as the planes home base was Biskra also in Tunisia. I have since changed my text to suit the ‘new’ results’.

    From J-P:

Thank you very much for your response, but on a spitfire scale 1/1 the rear wheel backs up leaves the weight of the airplane and the enfoncement of the shock absorber. On my spitfire, there is not shock absorber and the distance is not exact, IT IS for this reason that I ask you the exact distance.

Thanks Gents – so does anyone have the measurements between the wheelbase front and wheelbase tailplane? I have searched google without a definitive answer. The answer is out there, I just need to right question.

Yep, that video is of Jeans spit, beautiful isn’t she?

Unsure of scale but its something like 200 blades of grass to the inch :dev2:

I have been in contact with Jean for quite some time and usually been able to helkp somewhat. But I did note Mk5 airframe so maybe there is a difference between models.

Apart from one, they are all northern roads??? That either suggests to me that the BBC is biased, northern drivers are rubbish or the terrain is such that these roads are naturally more dangerous. As a born and bred northerner, I say the latter.

I work a lot in Nottingham, on mobile work, and they have to be some of the worst drivers I have ever seen. But the worst overall that I personally have ever seen are Birmingham taxi drivers (and bus drivers). At night the taxi’s ignore red lights and speed excessively in an effort to get back to pick up another fare. Buses go through red, usually late, to get back to depots.

Birmingham is a race track at night. Police only seen when on a blue light.
