Good Morning Sir , I can’t tell you about F-86 , let me get a Pilot to respond you and have him detail what the plan was for land base planes from that airport –
Regards Enrique
Griffiths 911 Ref # 257
We did’nt know about that -I don;t know if the Pilots ever realized –
I;ve reach the people on the other forum , I,ve let them know that the only thing I could do in order to bring together information of both sides was to try and translate – Which would not be usefull and would take a lot of time –
I proposed them to get one or two from each area / Naval / Air / Land so we could give proper answeres to so many questions that we all have –
Example of that is when Mercantiland started exchanging info regatding Subs with Mr Examp –
We would like to talk specifics on military accions that had taken place during the conflict that are already out of secret, we would like to exchange stories , and personal experiences , with Pilots ,Sea Men and Army men and Historians that have study the event –
Political issues out of the question , we are all here to see and replay war events wiyh due respect to all of those who have been in combat –
Some of those Pilots and Navy men have already been in this forum , most probably without imputing info , I will request them to imput theire personal experiences and knowlege as we go event by event –
Reagarding Soviets Subs , Mercantiland has a way to go on info regarding this , I’m sure others will join us with info –
Regarding C-130 and the lucky they were with HMS Cardiffs ,I’ll ask a Pilot to bring in his experiences and tell us his stories –
Do you agree Ken , I think this can be very interesting and we can all learn a lot about it –
Regards Enrique
Note: In order not to have so many different subjects talk about I would suggest going one by one , when there is nothing else to talk about them we go yo the next subject –
Right now I see to subjects open –
number one – Russian Subs , and submarine accions during conflict
number two – C-130 hercules and how they made it to the islands
Please let me know your thoughts –
Mercantilan
Thanks for this detail account , please stay with us I’m sure Ken and others may have questions for you – Regards Enrique

Yes it’s in spanish , it will take us a few ours to translate , I’m trying to see if some of the crew members of our subs knows Engish , to bring him to this forum and let him explain in detail –

My suspitious come to the Arrow , because it shows it as in a northern position , I was already used to naval bombardment , familiar with the sound of incoming grounds , but the night of june 11 it was different , at the begining ships shooting from the south , and suddenly this fire that comes from a north position – I did not see that ship neither the helicopter , and the sound of approching grounds was totalty different , I heard it coming from the north – I would say it must have been HMS Arrow , I won’t bet my coffee on it , but I’m prety sure –
Regards Enrique
Always keep with you warm coffee and a good cigarrette –
Zoot Horn Rollo Ref # 240
You may think that a 20′ container full of electronic inside plus a 25 foot tall antena on top turning at 6 rpm would give your spoter the clue that it was a radar – No , not al all it was de smell of coffee that betaryed my position –
Regards Enrique
Zoot Horn Rollo Ref # 240
Thank you Zoot Horn Rollo , and let me tell you something , it was not the only time it happen , the night of June 11 again while drinking another coffee with a Marlboro Cigarrette someone came knocking the door with 4.5 caliber at 11:30 PM –
Regards Enrique
Griffiths 911
Thank you Ken
On May 1st I was on a position on top of Sapper Hill with the Radar ( Cardion ANTPS 44 ) we had from up there a very clear view of our surroundings , during the day we plot the palnes , in the afternoon we spotted the ships coming in for naval bombardment –
At night with 1 degree negative we were tracking the ships that came in again for naval bombardment – I was operating the radar , tracking those ships and the helicopter that was guiding that naval bombardment – Then close to midnight while having a cup of coffee and smoking my Marlboro cigarette someone did’nt have a better idea than aiming at me with naval bombardment –
Any idea which ship was it ? Nooo I don’t have any hard feeling I just want to know who knock me out of the chair and into a Fox Hole –

Duet Ref # 233 Russian Sub ?
Besides the discription of the atack on may 05 aginst a submerge close to land , there has been one more ocasion in which an Argentine Subs encounters another Sub – And this may be what you are looking for :
On May 08 Sub San Luis North of Falklands launches an MK 7 against what they discribe as inteligent underwater movements – It was detected by pasive method, launch at 3500 yards , inteligent underwater device ( Sub ) tries evasive manuvers – Detonation of war head is heard – Nothing else found –
We will keep on looking for info regarding this matter
Regards Enrique
