Fashion is a statement, she wanted to make one. End of.
Most of the intelligent women were looking at how beautiful the Bride and Pippa were.
Most of the intelligent men were thinking the same, but with a double act and a different ending to the day ;-).

If I were rich as Creosote, I’d buy it. Simply because it is a one off genuine artefact worn at a British Royal Wedding…and I would make money on it in years to come.

I read that article with glee. I adore make-n-mend skils. A man after my own heart.
With those skills, you’ll soon find a ring top.

I think it’s too tight a radius for a pipe bender. Or too much of a circle if you get my drift.
It would be very hard with a pipe spring too.
I think the original was an ally or Magnesium alloy casting?

I would look to alternatives. A ring that you throw for a dog for example. Get a solid rubber one, they hardly bend – but you could knife a slot all round the back of it and feed in some good wire, like a coat hanger pre bent to a circle.
Then it needs leather and twine (Was it twine?)

James. Whilst I never realy got into plastic models, I remember building a model Vampire powered by a Jet X Engine, balsa wood, tissue and dope etc, and a glider called a Minimoa, if my grey matter remembers correctly. To me, it’s a good way of learning patients and the determination to get things spot on, and attention to detail.

    Lincoln .7

Balsa wood. Can ya still get it?
I wittled a whole glider fuselage out of a piece of Balsa wood 2 inches square and half a yard long. To get weight out of rear fuse one had to make a slot underneath all the way aft and hollow it out. Then make a thin piece to glue back in the slot to create a cover only.
Wings and VT/HT came ready made to fasten onto it (They were paper covered wire)
What was that Glue called? (For Balsa)

In Airfix days, it was Polystyrene cement. The stuff they supply these days in model kits is some kind of rubbish that just about holds onto plastic………but fear not merry modellers: –
Go in B&Q and get Marley plastic cement. It’s for gluing/glueing the plastic waste pipes together, yep them’s from your sink. Like Evo stick it isn’t on the shelf – in an attempt to prevent sniffers……you take the empty can or a leaflet to the checkout.
Open the tin, it has its own brush in the cap, and the smell will take you back to airfix models 1960 – 1980. And, it sticks plastic proper! Too much and you melt it away LoL.
