Well Shirley, we actually did. UK, just like USA has “Operatives” in every country. The WMD was a convenient ploy to get in there and finish the job, IMO.

That aside, the people affected are in our thoughts, we Brits have a special place for NZ.

erm, we all are, by nature!
One picks a partner to ensure the offsprings we have are healthy etc. and are likely to have a good spell at life.
We (As a race) do not seek to have unhealthy offsprings. We do not wish to breed with people/races/creeds that we do not like or agree with.
Put a science label on it and call it a Eugenic, but we are all actually born to do that.

An Egyption chap today called his newborn girl “Facebook” after the website which co-ordinated the uprising.

Unfortunately, the South Island has a fault through it in an East-West direction. One of the halves is moving towards the Pacific at quite a rate (Techtonically speaking).
So, like Californy; South Island will have many more quakes.

Just heard from my eldest girl over in NZ.

Thankfully, she was in Hamilton on North Island at the time of the tremor.

However, her partner’s family live in Christchurch itself and they’ve had no news of them at all.
