Well they ripped off (excuse me, bought license for) the Kh-31, though that would not fit inside the J-20 in present form.
But either way, the PAK-FA look to have a complete array of A2G weaponry from the start.
don’t forget LeiShi series of Satellite/INS guided bomb include their equivalent to the IR/Image/mw band seeker SDB.
so how is “PAK-FA having a complete A2G package from the start” apply to J-20’s state?
Rip-off bomb from Russia? Check. Ok. China got parity there (maybe?).
Two huge missiles that aren’t relevant to stealthy J-20. Check.
Huge Kh-31, rip-off, not relevant to J-20 or possessing the range of Kh-58USh models. Check.
Back to square one brosevich!
LT-2 is more rip-off from Paveway than whateve russia have
C802/803 is rip off from which russian weapon again?
but anyways. go on.

Do you for once think UK will sell fighters to Taiwan even if they give u 200 million per fighter ? That require serious b******s in the current political and economic climate, which not even U.S has these days.In the end unless the U.S comes under Strong Republican leadership its going to be too easy for China in the region and Taiwan will be taken over either by force or coercion. Even then I tend to think Taiwan is too small an issue these days for the Americans to seirously have a stand off or war with China.
France did it 20 years ago with its Mirage 2000 deal and LaFayette/Kangding frigates. its still possible. today. IMHO, if all the right buttons are pushed.
China will protests even it is not the power that it is today. even if TW is buying a single cartridge. The reason is that its their principle (soverignty above all else) and they are standing by it. and given what they have gone through they have amble reason to do it.
a “Strong Repug” “leadership” is not going to affect anything. we already have a “Strong Repug” “Leadership”… as the purse is actually controlled by house (that’s Boenher) and that’s not working out too hot is it?
Because Obama is a closet Sinophile, which was evident from his gestures just after he came to power, the other thing is he is ideologically opposed to India on many matters like the NPT and all.
The republicans is likely to continue from where George W. Bush left off with respect to India ;). Although she is no longer a candidate, Sarah Palin visited India recently and talked about taking India U.S relation to the next level, I guess GOP winning the Presidential election will be very good news for India-U.S ties.
Curious and curiouser, so, what “gestures” did Barack Hussein Obama perform that was “evident” to indicate that he was a “closet Sinophile”?
and as to “GOP winning the Presidential election will be very good news for India-U.S ties“, may be, but GOP winning would be very bad news for the US economy. cuz’ Boehner is running the show regardless who is in white house and we all know how competent the house repugs are. half a decade of this and a strong US tie may not matter anymore.
and if a GOP president is elected by those xenophobic hardline knownothings, then even the “good news” for India-US Ties may be hard to find.
Well Boeing are not in the F-35 project and have been pushing the F/a-18E as a stop gap for the late delivery of the F-35. I would think that their is a big market for a F/A-18E with a new wing, and the F/A-18E is now competing with the Eurofighter and the Rafael and the f-35.
what conceivable performance increase would a new wing offer, that can bring in extra business, that would offset the extra costs associated with a new wing on an older airframe? (small changes may not matter that much, big changes = essentially a brand new flight test program)
Possibly the Hornet is a better fit than the F-35.
Cost may also be a factor.
And as common with Japan, possibly they’re looking to build it locally.
I wish they will bite the bullet and locally design and build a better “JSF” oriented towards more a2a performance.
http://boeing.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=43&item=1936
Arent Japan part of the JSF project? Why would they not buy more JSF’s for the F-X project instead of buying less capable F-18E’s?
Also what would it take for Boeing to change the wings on the F/A-18 and recertify it?
No. they are not yet.
Yes. They want JSF.
A business case. Which means never.
no need to get personal because you were initially unwilling to provide a good source. If you knew this information why didn’t you link the book in the first place? what page is your claims based on? Did you not learn how to quote your references? Instead you sent me a link to some aviation forum with people who are probably just as angry as you there.
The original link had an article was clearly alluding to a published memoir by Mr Gu. and that memoir is selling on the net (one of the biggest booksellers on mainland china) for 30 Yuan. and almost every aviation enthusiasts in China has a copy.
you were too lazy to find the memoir or too entrenched in your opinions to believe it. or both.
You have nothing else worthwhile to say so you go on these tangents. pretty pathetic.
you are saying Hui Tong posts dodgy models and information? I did not know you consider yourself more informed than him 😮
Once again, you intentionally twisted my posts to serve your pathetic argument.
what I said was
“and, no some of those dodgy photos are just dodgy photos. not real. mainwing of J10 was always a big delta. the shock cone inlet was only one of many alternate choices. “
so please go find some better comeback.
ps.
as to who is better informed between me and huitong, you are certainly in no position to even begin postulate.

In it he tentalizingly talked about the future Mid and High thrust core development.,( sorta like IHPTET), which WS-15 is one of the first fruit of that effort….

Hey it is christmas, it always was!

whole big sections on J-10 and the details of what they went through.

Cool,
New Awacs for PaF.
Once again me with something strange and esp. in mind of the latest Chinese fake I’m quite unsure. On the other hand “Weimeng” is one of the most reliable photographer around in China … but maybe again a Psed Fake or even simply a “foreign” UAV taken by him !???

Model airplane / UAV Competition held in Shenyang.
This is the entry from shenyang aerospace university.
They even had a competition for landing on a arrester equiped scaled carrier strip.
🙂
What ‘situational awareness’ would a manned combat aircraft’s crew have – apart from looking out the window – that doesn’t come from the aircraft’s sensors in the first place? Data from those sensors can be sent to a pilot in a ground station somewhere safe, rather than a guy sitting in the plane at serious risk. And looking out the window is not much help to you at night, in poor weather, when your targets are hundreds of km away.
.
That’s assuming the comm link between ground station and UAV is secure.
That assumption may not hold true if you are bumping against opponents who has the ability to disrupt that link.
