This is only standard practice in the A/c industry and has happen so many times before, difference being manufacturer sells old type aircraft ( 737, 767 ) untill new aircraft 787 is available. Then if the NEW aircraft dont get delivered on time Customer has a/c to satisfy their need, OR if customer gets New a/c on time and has requirement for the current a/c as well they keep them, simple really.

Grey Area, a work mate of mine flew to the States on Saturday on the US Airways flight, you didn’t happen to photogragh the a/c by any chance? If so could you post the photo.
I’d like to see his face when i tell him the link when he comes home.

Most excellent day watched the take off this morning and was able to catch the landing just before leaving work, didn’t catch the crews press conference, just the end when the SKY presenter OR was it BBC did not know where the little town in WALES was and why they had not mentioned FILTON or the place where the Rolls engines are made. Sad ill informed persons they are. They still think the Wings are built in Bristol.

OH come on!
Airbus has had 30 years of building Cutting edge aircraft do you think for a second that this thing would reach for the sky without every pre-test being completed, and that goes for BOEING as well.
