The bunch of clowns running this country appear to be trying to put our Air Force at the same level as pre Battle of Britain, there again major WARS like the Falklands, Irqra Parts 1 and 2. and the current situation in Afghanistan. Will not be happening under their leadership so they will not be blamed as they will be out of power by then.
Cornershop owners running the ministry of defence could do a better job.

Valley may have the area for the aircraft but I dont see there being anywhere near enough accomodation for all the personnal and families that would move there, or would the MOD use civvie contractors for all the jobs they could to reduce the need for further expediture?

I was at Elvington this week (weather was really great, nice and sunny and oh so warm for this time of the year) while standing by Lindy at chap remarked to his friend ” This is the one that flew this summer?????. Replys all round of NO not this one.

Good on him, his staff may give their job a little more focus in future. If the CEO turns up at 8.00 in the morning to do a spot check then he must have heard bad things about his check in staff.

UK based F-111 were maintained in the UK and over hauled at Filton any similar connection with health issues?
