Whats it called then……..

….at least its on the right track……
We are all aware that mid term elections throw up “anti Government” results that can be misleading.
However, in my humble opinion the Tories stayed at home this week. they did not want to show support for there leadership and as a consequence have been given a very bloody nose.
Messers Cameron and Osborne are in the process of completly ailenating them selves from not only the great British public but also the common or garden Conservative voter.
Following the world economic crash (yep Gordon might of made some howllers but he didnt bring down the western world on his own), changes had to be made. However, the “devil may care ” approach of Messers Cameron and Osborne is not working and Tory back benchers are afraid for their seats.
As I keep saying, the opposition is freighteningly week and yet they are now well ahead in the polls.
The people on the “Clapham Omnibus” are not happy.
We must make a quick attempt to return to growth……or UK PLC will fold like several other European nations which are presently teatering on the brink.
The banks must be made to lend to business and industry at rates which match the BoE base rate or close to and we must stop the banks simply trying to sit on all the money used to prop up there balance sheets from QE.
Further, many UK blue chip companies ( and some foreign ones) are sat on large cash reserves. We must give these companies incentives to spend (invest) this money, preferably in new jobs. Even better if those new jobs are outside the south east.
Like or not, the peasents (and Tories) are revolting (up the revolution).
Lets see some sensible changes and please……..some descent LEADERSHIP.
PS all contributions to my Fiat Panda restoration fund would really……really……be appreciation………

Errrrrr didnt Mrs T’s administration pull HMS Endurance from the region. And I believe shortly before the conflict they were negotiating to sell two of the “through deck crusiers” to Australia and India ……… and thats for starters.
But if you really want to see how a Conservative government cuts defense try Duncan Sandy’s in 1957……
Of course the current encumbant has’nt done so bad.

Piece of Cake….one of my all time favourites. Enjoyed Robinsons novel on the cold war Vulcans. Though not a huge fan of Tuesdays war.
I think Flygirl has got the answer, I’ve never read Catch 22 !

It’s novels I’m after.
A thousand shall fall I thought was magnificent.
Fate is the Hunter is of course the classic alongside I would put Bomber by Deighton and Under an English Heaven by Radcliffe.
Think I’ll give Titanic a miss, I guess we will be passing close to her…….
