….I was a big spotter……as were many others in Manchester during the seventies.

Whilst I dont keep numbers these days I know a number of people who do including the occasional airline pilot. They are certainly some of the best travelled and interesting people around.

Spotting gave me my first opportunity to get up close to aviation and inspired an interest which has left my house wall to wall with books. It has given me a life long interest and eventually many years employed in the industry…..I hope to stay there up to retirement.

Yep there are one or two “spotters” who try ones patience.

However, give me a spotter over a banker any day !

I got made redundant by a well known airline just before Christmas 5 years ago, having been one of the longest serving employees.

Since then I have worked for a number of companies, some good some not quite so good.

I eventually found a place with an excellent carrier and wonderful employer.

I wish you and everyone in a similar situation very good wishes and every possible good fortune. You will be in my thoughts this festive season.
