I agree with your words totally.
The point I have really been trying to make all along is I think we need to look at things from a different angle.
A culture has been created based on greed and celebrity culture and all politicians who have held power for the last 40 years have been involved in establishing the society.
It’s not all bad as proven by the army of people who came out to sweep up the mess and the messages that came from Birmingham over the weekend.
I can also see on the horizon problems looming from the “north – south” divide in the UK.
Virtually all the work now seems to be centred in the South East…
For too long the countries politicians have worked on a short term, lets get rich now and dont worry about the future policy. It has left us with little industry, deminishing commerce and a strange education system. The major money earner being the City and financial services….which has lead and continues to lead us even bigger problems.
I am concerned about the future. I’m very glad I am not a youngster these days, especially those based outside the South East.
It might be wooly thinking but wider coilitions might be the way to go hence my interest in changing the voting system and indeed the Head of State.
This is a very easy argument to dismiss of course but we need to get people engaged and avoid mass unemployment for the under 25’s.
If the under 25’s feel, in large numbers , they have nothing to look forward to and no future, ergo nothing to loose we will see lots more riots.
No, that does not make it right or acceptable in principal. However, I feel that is what will result.
24 hour rolling news and modern communications are making massive changes to day to day living and society in general….
