Bomber County by Daniel Swift………….anybody else read this and what did you think ? I’m finding it quite hard going but I’m enjoying it !

I visited about 3 years ago and thought Brooklands was fantastic. What I liked most was the hands on aspect.

I wondered on to the VC-10 and was delighted that you were not only able to sit in the left hand system but that many of the systems were alive.

I got talking to one of the volunteers who sat in the right seat and ended up spending about 2 hours on the VC-10 alone.

I was really engaged by being able to sit in the seat and listen to the local expert. If only all museums had such access.

I cannot recommend a visit enough….Oh….the cars were excellent as well.

Serious question…….

…..was the Queens Head a regular watering hole for the man ??

I believe the band was based in the Bedford area ??

If you have criticisms about the policy PLEASE point it in the correct direction. Bomber Command carried out its orders as dictated by the Air Ministry as prescribed by the POLITICIANS. Especially one WSC. Who’s behavoir regaring the matter at the end of the war was reprehensable.

Try a couple of books…..The Withered Garland and Proberts excellent biography of Harris.

You have to look at the matter in context and not through the eyes of the “Monday morning quaterback”.
