    Great topic and some wonderful thoughts and memories. for me:

    Right hand seat of dan Air Comet 4 IBZ/MAN….what a great crew !

    Concorde out of MAN on a perfect winters day, M2.0 over the north sea.

    First solo….at LPL….in a PA 28. Called down-wind and was asked to take up “an orbit due commercial traffic”..ended up as 50 mins chock to chock.

    Finally a taxi ride in Just Jane. Bought for me by SWMBO for my birthday. How those guys flew those night after night is just amazing…..at the going down of the sun we will remember them !

    Good idea BR but am a lapsed PPL….if i were to take a single trip would bring back too many memories and just cannot afford it any more….flying that is !

    BMA 1-11…..had my first flight on one of those in 1969. Those were the days. The old fella tells me it was £24 19 shillings and 11 pence each for 14 nights full board in Callela on the Costa Dorada.

    Try telling that to the kids of today……they won’t believe you.

    The F/O let me sit in the right hand seat for 30 minutes on the inbound sector. What a machine !

    Years later I worked for Dan’s……for 7 weeks in total.

    There lies another story……
