This pic is from the “Planes Of Fame” Museum at the Chino Airport in Chino CA USA.
Platoon & Full Metal Jacket are great Vietnam flicks, Oliver Stone & Stanley Kubric.
I didn’t care for the Thin Red Line, thought the movie was slow & not enough action. Now Patton, that’s a great movie! Longest Day is great too!
The ME 109E’s in this film where all replicas. Easy way to tell is by the location of the engine exhaust. It’s on the top, when everyone knows that the ME 109’s had the DB 600 series engine which was an inverted, Fuel injected, V-12. The birds in Battle of Brittain film where Hispano-Suiza built a/c.
If any of you would like to see the REAL Memphis Belle, just Visit Memphis Tennesee where it is on Disnply, oddly enough, I don’t think it was ever in the Smithsonian Museum, even though it was the first American B-17 bomber to complete 25 missions. I would like to see her for myself.
QF is part of OneWorld along with British Airways, American Airlines, Aer Lingus & Cathay Pacific. I’m sure there’s a few more if I’ve missed any someone add them.
Rumour has it that he’s a teacher these days. And it probably serves him right, too! [/B][/QUOTE]
He is coming out with a new album & a tour. They are playing his new single “Irish Blood, English Heart” On radio stations over here in L.A.
The A-1 Skyraider an ugly bird? I think not! It is the largest single seat piston engine aircraft ever built, had an excellent service record in Vietnam. Now the A-6 Intruder, that’s a quasi-ugly plane. How about the P-26 Peashooter? That was ugly!
I read something on the airliners.net site that SQ is gonna do the SIN-EWR route as opposed to SIN-JFK, I could be wrong…
The long flight that is…
I can attest to that, I’ve been to Sydney, nice Airport.
Vietnam Airlines codeshares with Cathay Pacific on the HKG-Saigon run. it’s the same flight number on both carriers CX767/VN767
Nice shot
I’m planning on visiting Ireland next year, does anyone know if there’s any spotting areas at the Dublin Airport?
Nice QF pics, as far as El Al goes, those Isralis do almost the same thing at LAX, they have Airport PD follow them to the end of the runway, plus someone sits in a car behind the plane on the ramp with binoculars looking around, plus they carry a machine gun, not to mention but they wand all of the bagroom workers even after they’ve gome through security, I used to work at LAX in the Bradley bagroom loading up BA and seeing this.
