Hi All
Here’s some info I have on Lough Erne Sunderlands and other likely sunken treasures in Northern Ireland.
There may well be some interesting wrecks still to be discovered.
Liberator or Marauder anyone?Clive
Worth your weight in gold on your first post! 😀 Welcome to the Forum! 🙂
I’m the one in the tight shiny black suit with the tight straps around my body. :diablo:

That told Daz. I guess the higher you jump, the deeper you dive 😀
Sorry wandering off topic again. Best wishes for your future explorations and look forward to the reports.
Wish I’d known it was happening. Looks like a lot of fun.

Don’t think the wheels up pilot was laughing too much! Europa or what?
RAF Fairford is the only emergency landing site in the UK for the Shuttle :).
An author here would seem to disagree with you!
From 1989 Manston became optimistically styled as Kent International Airport, and a new terminal was officially opened that year by the Duchess of York. In view of its east/west runway alignment, and the fact it is the fourth longest in the UK, Manston has also been listed by NASA, although never used, as an emergency diversionary landing strip for the space shuttle program.

The Windermere Sunderland? Not that old chestnut again (grin).

Tragic news, my condolences to the family and friends of those involved. 🙁
Seconded. The aircraft was very familiar to German TV viewers for its work for commericals.

Here is a photo of G-APLO/WD379 photo credit to Rod Bearden. Presumably WB696 is a separate request?
Koda Air Cargo 9L-LDU and African Airlines TL-ADJ were residents for some time…and both flew out under their own steam or jet fuel…I think 9L-LDU was burn and wfu and not sure on the whereabouts of Tl-ADJ??
TL-ADJ, one end to the other end? Southend to Ostend I think!
Apologies! Took off from Ostend 6th August, 2003 and a few minutes later landed at Reims due to another emergency.
Further news report.
A further report from another newspaper describes the company as routinely taking ‘shortcuts’.
Update.
Apparently the crew, if they had finished the flight, would have had a 23hr shift, management at MK Airlines has got a lot better though over the last year
From today’s paper. Incorrect data was entered into the take-off software and the crew would have been over hours, if they had completed the flight. 🙁

Great place to visit, but terrible to photograph! (No disrespect to the photographer.)
It must be somewhere quite high up because they obviously think they can see us coming a mile off.
