I would imagine that North Korea must come pretty high on the list of least desired countries in which to live: no food, repressive dictatorship and wall-to-wall propaganda. This is the picture that comes from the media of course, but if it were incorrect, why do the NK government not try to correct it?

I’ve just done the test again, this time in easy mode, and I too got 21/24 after getting 23/24 in very hard mode: odd. There were far more modern aircraft in this one than in the very hard one and as I stopped learning them soon after jets and choppers came in I am less likely to do well. But presumably the compiler of the test is much younger than I am so the more modern ones seem easier to him.

23 out of 24 in Very Hard mode. However, having four possible answers was a help in several cases, particularly when three of them are patently ridiculous!

Not knowing much about this, how does that square with the war’s most successful anti-aircraft gun, the German 88mm, also being a very successful anti-armour weapon?

    Moggy

In response to your question Moggy, the same high velocity capability is useful in both cases. To fire on as flat a tragectory as possible as an anti-tank gun (and also to have great hitting power to send an armour-piercing round through the armour), and simply to heave the shell up very high as an anti-aircraft gun. The original question raised the point of high-velocity weapons being used in aircraft where the need isn’t there as the gun is already up where the bomber is!

You have all sorts of things to look forward to … slowing down more and more every year, memory going, angina, various plumbing problems, memory going, inability to sleep at night … life is going to be really great. But the best thing of all to look forward to is … RETIREMENT! That’s the most marvellous thing ever. I’ve been retired for twelve years and I feel better each year despite the aforementioned items.

Chin up old chap, life does get better and better in spite of the increasing age and the grey hairs.

    Intruding Nightfighters

The reason why the Luftwaffe was forbidden to mount intruder operations was that one crashed Lancaster in Germany was worth more in propaganda value to Hitler than one hundred crashed Lancasters in England. The one would be visible to the German people whereas the one hundred would be unknown to them. So the nightfighters had to operate where their victims would fall on German occupied territory as far as possible.

    Blenheim Progress

    KIGAS and Rlangham,

The film was called “The Way to the Stars” and the squadron started on Blenheims but converted to Bostons part way through. Later on a B17 group took over Halfpenny Green airfield.

Referring to GaryB’s post above, I think you should keep an eye open for members of the KKK scouting your area prior to visiting vengeance on you for your error. The flag on the top of the motor car General Lee in the Dukes of Hazard was the Confederate Battle Flag, and not (shudder) the Union Flag which was the standard of the other side!
