Nice video I grew up in Farnborough. I was born at Farnborough and Cove War Memorial hospital in Albert Road. 🙂
What in 1950… surely not. 😀
1965 😀
Nice pic’s Tony.
Or trying to raise some desperately needed cash so they can restore/acquire more of the aircraft that people complain that they haven’t got / done?
No, I think they are milking the cow.
LOL.I somehow don’t think so.
I think lot of FoD and IWM members will feel ripped off.
Just a tad.
I had a reply this morning from Richard Ashton.
Dear Anna (if I may),
There will be a statement going out from the Museum later today
clarifying that FOD will not be charged for the pre air show days. The
views expressed on the varying forums / threads have a validity to them.
FOD are vital to the ongoing success of the Museum their support allowed
the building of AirSpace, the creation of the Wright Flyer Exhibition
and our yet to be started History of Duxford Exhibition. Thus the pre
air show days will be as last year for FOD.
Thank you Anna (if I may).
Excellent news for a wet and dismal Friday.
Brian
My pleasure Brian.
I hope not ! Richards view on this .
I would however express my alarm re the viewing of the flying from the
fields surrounding the runway – I would hasten to add that this has
nothing to do with the perception of some that the Museum is “losing”
money to those watching outside of the gate. Rather the safety of the
public and pilots is paramount to us and the areas people stand are
simply not safe. We are working with the land owners to ensure that the
fields around the airfield are kept free from spectators this summer.
Good point.

When ??
I think closing the hangars is a great idea apparently they used to close the whole site in winter so a TFC was telling me
Well ? when was it closed in Winter?
Cheers chaps thanks for clarifying that. 😀
Great Video.
This must be as good as U-turns get:
Common sense prevails .
