All the details we want to know, except what and why? 😀
I got it in an email today………………………without ringing Kemble and finding out which one has been cut up I don’t know:rolleyes:
Just thought it might interest someone 😀 😉

Mexican 727 🙂

A limosine company based in Mexico has come up with what it thinks is the ultimate luxury car – a converted Boeing 727 passenger plane.
The company has taken the wings off the Boeing and turned it into a big deisel-powered car, capable of whizzing 50 people along the highway, at up to 200 kilometres an hour.
From next month, anyone with a spare $1,500 will be able to book a three hour trip in the converted 727, taking advantage of its dance club, bar and lounge – and hope it does not hit any pot-holes.
Sixty people worked on the plane’s transformation for three months.
The six-tonne plane is 18 metres long and 3.9 metres high. It has a six-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine in the back and air brakes and suspension.
The interior is decked with neon strobe lights and audio and video systems.
Passengers can boogie on a dance floor, make a pit stop at a bar or retire to a “romantic” space in the back of the aircraft-turned-luxury-automobile.

I was at Andrewsfield yesterday afternoon watching him along with a Harvard doing circuits…
Both an evocative sight on a grass strip.

I was at Finningley in the mid 70’s when the Beverley there was cut up along with a couple of Varsitys and an Argosy. If I remember correctly the cockpit section went to Newark along with the Shackleton.
I used to have two of the prop blades in my garden………they were hoooooge. Wonder if they are still there??

It’s all Bush’s fault. If UK would simply cut ties to the Bush(fascist) administration………and accept sharia law………and ban all religions but islam…….then there would be no terrorism in the country. Simple.
As a practicing CHRISTIAN in a Christian country I feel really offended by your post………….why should I accept Sharia Law from a foreign religion:mad: If I go to foreign lands in my travels I have to conform to the local laws and regulations. This should be reciprocated here in the UK and enforced not just to let them get on with honour killings etc and getting away with it!!
Or are you just trolling to get a reaction??

Just caught the Beeb’s coverage of the Flaklands War parade down the Mall. Very mixed feelings about it. We all salute our brave troops but this makes me so cross – having Thatcher there was bad enough but it was what wasn’t there that will cause us plane fans gnash our teeth the most. That and that p*llock Snow doing the Janet & John commentary.
He told us some pish about why the SHARs were absent. Single engine planes not safe over London – durh. It closed with the Reds in their Hawks… and what about the BBMF?
OK the Victors are long gone (without them it would have been a non-event) but to ground the SHARs and not permit even a trio is shameful. We had a quartet of Typhoons and various other planes with vague relevance (Dominies…?) nice to see but dubious when there’s no SHARs and even ADVs (for their RAF Stanley duties).
Having done my time down South in 82 (TAC ATC) I think the event was for the FALKLAND (not Flaklands) veterans and not for the benefit of “plane fans”
as for the BBMF what relevance have they got to do with the event in question?? They flew down the Mall yesterday for the Queens Birthday/Trooping the Colour.
Some of the newer fast jets were being piloted by some of the veterans
so I can see the relevance of these being flown in the Flypast!!
Margaret Thatcher deserved to be there as she was a main player in the conflict in deciding to send the task force to retake the Islands. I will also stand up for her as when I joined in 1975 a lot of folk in the Forces were paid so little that alot of the married guys wereliving below the poverty line…..first thing she did when the Labour Junta were kicked out of Government was give the forces a decent payrise that we deserved.
Just my tuppence worth, It was a great feeling watching those heros march off………..my heart goes out to the families of the guys that didn’t make the return trip.

Sounds like a mid life crisis in progress but I agree! Let’s stick with planes!:)
That’s why this is in the general discussion section as no planes were hurt in this thread!!
No mid life crisis here I’m way past that event 😀
Just an interesting look on life in the past:p
