The grass runway is still available but you have to request it!!

I only used it once to land after a big crosswind came on.

Used to fly from the Pilot Cente on the South side, nice friendly club good atmosphere.

Interesting flying in the close vicinity to LHR but if you flew it properly no probs!! 😉

Now flying out of Andrewsfield in Essex even better club and a grass runway!!

Congrats to the pilot and his instructor on performing an excellently performed forced landing after engine failure.

Reminds me of Gary Numans experience putting his down on one of our motorways a few years back!!

Don’t know if there’s that 124 capacity available….all new builds are already allocated and flying aircarft are usually fully committed…unless there’s a deal with the Russian military!!

    Hey Wannabe

Ask your dad about the steering trucks on the rear and how you have to get them straight before release of the towbar…I assume he works at Stansted either Aviance or Servisrair 😀

Unfortunately the RAF training does not coordinate with any civil qualifications 🙁

If you are interested ina RAF career in this trade talk to the SATCO (Senior Air Traffic Control Officer) at either Brize or Lyneham which are in your neck of the woods..

I left and went into a flight briefing job and that went bust but now work with an airline where I have found some of my military connections to be of use.

If you are solely looking for a job in civil operations the RAF is not really the way to go, although I’ve heard that there may be some commonplace training coming shortly.

If you want to enter totally civil ops best option would be to talk to some of the airlines to get a bit of work experience, take some courses like the citys and guilds aviation studies packages or more useful, an FAA dispatchers licence course which you can do home study in the UK but have to take the oral exan in the States. Most Airlines recognise an FAA ticket and some expect them.

What has the AN22 got to do with the AN140? The AN140 is just tiny, most comparable with an ATR42. It could probably fit inside the AN22 if the wings where detached.

Being used on the trials to move equipment etc around!!! The aircrfat maybe small but still needs support equipment……
