Its was about 1996 and I had just sold my business and for the first time ever I had time to visit Duxford and with my teenage son. We were in the hangar where 434 was kept and suddenly the doors were opened a tractor started moving machines about. we walked around to the outside of the doors and watched a Mustang being pulled out. There was a man in a leather flying jacket next to me. I said to my son ” it must be great to own somehting like that and fly in it” With this the man turned to me and said ” yes it is” and he walked off. We both thought “oh yeah did you hear him”. After the crew had pulled the fighter onto the airfield the mad walked out and climbed into the cockpit. I asked who was he and was told thats Ray Hanna. Over the next few years I spoke to him a few times. very pleasant and talented person.
Great Stuff thanks, and the Lanc in my favourite colours as Johnie Walker
Looks like a good event. Is this a new event as I have not heard of it before.
My favourite quote and I use it sometimes when having a disagreement
“DON’T SHOUT AT ME MR WARWICK”
I spoke to Rob a few days after the accident and he was so calm about. A real cool dude. Just minutes afterwards he was throwing his Stearman around at Raydon giving an immaculate display
Nice photos
I watched a TV programme last night, and it was about a British Army Captain who was injured by a Russian Mine, left over from their days out there, because it was not to do with the current conflict this guy did not get any compensation or help from the British.
Can this possibly be true
