My father picked me from school and took me to the end of the Runway where we watched the burning wreckage…and plumes of smoke.
Also remember going round the back of the golf course when the Viscount ran off the runway.
Also remember the Dutch Dc3 that ran of the side of the runway and ended up in the golf course, the aircraft full of dutch football fans who had a few drinks that day and they thought they had just landed.

Paris flown into most of these airfileds.

If you think of Paris like London with airfield dot all around you have a similar thing.
Last Paris we left the aircraft at St Cyr.
Previous we left it at Lognes.
Now ATC, most light airfields in France will have no ATC some do at weekends and the odd day in the week but seems very hit and miss.

Toussus is big full ATC and lots of light aircraft and the main Ga airfield to paris.
Need to get a taxi to the nearest Railway station and railway in.

St Cyr not far from Toussus again nice airfield with a few interesting aircraft.
Outside airfield walk up hill to Railway station.

    Lognes lots of light aircraft
    Taxi to Metro station.

    Les mureaux
    Lots of homebuilt types here.
Railway line runs by not to sure were the nearest station is.

    La Fert Alais.
Interesting museum on a par with Old Walden/Shuttleworth trust.
I have seen visiting aircraft here.

Chaveney lots of light aircraft some interesting older types.

    Chelles. Small airfield.

    Beynes Gliding airfield.

    Nimby

There was a Nimby somewhere else that was un happy about aircraft noise and got himself elected to the local council, when he started to make a nuisance about noise the council reminded him that as he was one of the complainers and lived nearby he was not allowed to have any influences on anything todo with the airfield.
I did read that he went to law about this a lost his a case.

Also a friend of mine became a local councilier in order to protect his business on the airfield as he was worried that the council were going to put restrictions on the airfield/close it down.
Again he was reminded that as he had an interest in the airfield he was not allowed to vote or have any says in it.

So should this nimby be allowed to influence the local council from within……..He has self interest….
