NX611 was delivered to FE standard and went to 38MU. She then became WU-15 of Aeronavale with thw French navy.

Seen again heading South on Sunday just after The Lancaster passed over on it’s way back to CGY from Leuchars.
Would need to organise all the public access too. It’s not like they take up lots of space at CGY.
Not to mention moving the Visitor Centre and re-organising the Visitor Guides many of whom live nearer to Coningsby than Scampton.
Lincolnshire CC run the Visitor Centre so who would foot the bill of their move?
Whilst the dams raids may have taken place from Scampton, Woodhall Spa is the true home of 617 Sqdn. It is on the doorstep of Coningsby as is Metheringham, home of 106 Sqdn which also has strong associations with Gibson.
According to Harry Holmes book she started with 72sqdn May 46 then to 214sqdn Dec 46 and was scrapped Oct 48.
An Apache and an Augusta overflying Coningsby yesterday, heading North.

Landed at Coningsby about 14:30 just before the Lanc went off to do a practice display.
It Left again some 25 minutes later.
Trouble with the brakes again I believe. It wasn’t back at CGY an hour ago.

The Lancaster is due at the palace 13:01.
The BBC is planning on live pictures from the Lanc from 12:30 onwards. I don’t know how much of it will go out on air.
There was a Canberra doing touch & go at Coningsby last Tuesday. Great to see it banking away under power.
