Maybe i’m just a big kid at heart but I am a great believer in the ‘hands on’ and interactive type of exhibit. So lots of things you can touch and turn etc, peering into cockpits and so on, rather than just a sterile look and don’t touch arena. Obviously we have to preserve the airframes for future generations but say cutaway engines which demonstrate how they work, or models showing how the controls work.
Engines should be on display, but in a non cluttering way. Maybe Doughnuts idea of with models of the various types using that engine.
Captions are a must, but should be discrete. With a brief history of the type but also a history of that airframe.
