Some captions would be nice.
How did anyone find room for tripods if it was that busy?
Thanks for these. I wanted to go but the weather was awful to travel. I take it it was fine during the runs.
Better than ALL the ones I’ve seen “elsewhere”.
Sorry – just answered that myself by reading the introduction! They only cover 35,000 out of 120,000 overall.
Yes, I’m just getting to grips with it. In fact, I think there are discrepancies between the Bomber Command records, that website and two other pieces of research done a while ago. EG, the pilot previously understood to be involved does not even appear in their list of officers. Do you know how comprehensive it is? If it was for RAF pilots, I know one or two sources (London Gazette, AIR 27) which could be used. Unfortunately, although the website lists sources, they mean nothing to me because I have never done research in Germany. I shall, of course, be contacting the list and website authors but should be interseted to hear your (independent) view. Thanks.
Have you searched the National Archives catalogue or its incomprehensible successor “Discovery”? There are also pages on their site telling you how to go about visiting.
mhuxt,
That’s amazing. Thanks very much for not only the site but the idea to search it for the airfield name. It is rather comprehensive, if not complicated so I shall take some time to look into it.
Yes – bubbles would block development locally. Choosing “sharpen” in my program just adds noise.
Thanks – my next stop then!
Unbelievably sharp and beautiful. Why do you need a Leica? Please could you post details of the film and neg size, processing and scanner?
What do you think the blobs are? If it was fogging, they would be light, not dark, so is it some sort of shadow or is the film old and stored badly?
