Tempest II could fly to Berlin and back with two droptanks, and it didn’t need an extra fuselage tank that put the Cof G in the wrong place:D 😀 😀

Hi there this is my first post and this thread got me thinking hard as it was a long way back when I went to my first show. It was in Rotorua in New Zealand mid sixties at our local airport almost in the centre of town. I know there were Vampires, Harvards, and a Bristol Freighter and I’m sure a Sunderland came in and landed on the lake nearby. There would have been a number of DC3’s about but we took them for granted and took no notice of them. And I’m sure that a Mustang was about as well. This all mixed in with a variety of agricultral aircraft
