The PAKFA will fly in 20009 not 2009

    Ba dum dump…………Funny Man

Personally, I think it may be a lota hype, comapred to my F-22 (sorry, I have to say it) but I do think it will be one hellvua dam good airplane, just like every other ruskie aircraft has been. Sometimes better, sometimes not, but always close to front of the class…if not finding its way to the front….

What is the US going to replace all those F-16s with?

I don’t mean to sound pessimistic, but I hope they replace them with at least 700 F-35s, let alone 2000……..We’ve got major problems, not that they cant be overcome, but we’ve got major money problems………I wana see 700-F-35s in USAF colors, plus USN and USMC or course, but, at the point in time, unless the Western Central Banks (Europe and US of course) pull some new thing out of their buttocks i don’t know where the money will come from….

I read the accident summary when the Air Force was released it last April. Flush air data ports in front of the pilot’s windscreen filled with rainwater (the ports face up). The port heaters were not turned on long enough before flight to evaporate the water (a poorly documented preflight maintenance procedure). As the B-2 accelerated down the runway, the air data system could not determine the jet’s angle of attack due to the water. The jet pitched up, stalled and rolled to the left.

Quite frankly, I have no reason to doubt the USAFs reasoning behind this crash because the crash happened because of BS procedures, someone screwed up, and we saw what happened. Why is this answer provided by DJCROSS and other forum members not understandable….?

And again, what does a bad air data computer reading due to high a moisture content (erroneous as it was) have to do with rain soaked surfaces in regards to a radars detection threshold?

I hope that we all understand that in a FBW aircraft, with a computer making “our” inputs happen, there are many times when a pilot has no chance to override the FCS…….its just doing what it is programmed to do…..

So, uh, where else are you going to get the twenty-one million barrels of crude oil you use per day from?

I dont wana sidetrack this much, but I must say from a number or sources (not tommorow or within the next 6 months of course) that are foreign but more friendly, let alone domestic, but lets not go there.

It is possible, but except for world domination I see no reason why we. the US, are sitting on so many reserves of fossil fuels and not using them…..maybe thats the whole point…..even if it screws me over as an American in the meantime.

My best bets on the F-22 are that the extra 60 units that Congress funded recently get built…….and that’s all.

The F-35 could well get some marginal cuts but not in the near term (as it would spook partner countries and inflate agreed purchase prices) and not in any truly great numbers. The U.S. Navy is pushing for extra SHs right now since it sees a “fighter shortfall” in the next few years before the F-35 really gets going……..I can see F-35 numbers whittled down in the future to pay for the extra SHs now. That kind of stuff.

Either way, I don’t think there will be significant changes to each program right now considering the economic situation and the impact that harming each would have in this environment

WHat hey said, a few more F-22s and a good chance of a smaller buy of F-35s, hopefully not to small to F up the whole program….

Awww, trade that big gas guzzler for something more green like the Lola T70!

Ain’t nothing green I’ve ever heard sounds meannnnnnnnn…………

Sorry electric and hydrogen motors are the future, I hate to admit, but I will be one of the last holdouts, cause dam does a good Gas engine sound just tantalizing, nothing any electric or green machine could ever produce.

“PS: Granted, the Lola T70 may have a gas engine (I know it did now, a chevy small block 350 to be precise lol, but i get ur point, smaller car than the GT40), but not matter what green car it is, i doubt it sounds as good as my diesel truck with no exhaust and a big pipe coming off the turbo, let alone a F430 etc etc…….theres just no comparison. Maybe in 100 years, our grand/great grand kids will be in discussions about how much better this fuel cell or electric gizmo sounds, but for now……I want nothing to do with them, I don’t get that tingly feeling down my leg from them.

True, a GT40 is nice, but dam does that F430 sound for lack or a better term orgasmic at Full Tilt…….sorry, I love engines, whether they’re recips or jets.

Why is anyone still debating this, all these figures are classified or at best completely hypothetical……..

But come on, comparing an F-22 to a Grippen at supercruise?……..Thats like comparing a Ferrari to a Ford.

Nothing against the Ford?Grippen, they’ll get the job done……But there’s nothing like doing the same thing in a Ferrari.

BTW, I drive a Ford truck, so please dont call me Biased, but I would love to have a Nice F430 Spider.

Do I really need to get into this? Come on, please, unless someone ask me to I have got enough domestic political BS to deal with let alone defense appropriations.

This guy is a farce, the new president that is. It will be shown within a year, 2 at the most. Hell, I just hope he doesn’t F up this country too much in the next 4, thats all I gota say right now since I have been single handedly singled out by his chief economic adviser as not needing “a whole Lotta help” when it comes to bailouts since I’m a white male construction worker. (Not that I am looking for a handout, I just think its funny they are gona try to hand it out to certain ethnic groups rather than the sob’s, like me, who can get the god dam job done no matter what our color is).

Defense procurement? Maybe some more F-22s, i doubt the almost 400 the AF wants but i can see a few more year run……F-35s……I can see numbers cut drastically which will have major implications with our allies…..Probably would be so expensive we would be better off buying the original number or close to it, but then again I’m not an economics guy, I just seem to have a knack for how things work in DC.

Oh and NYRANGERFAN, you didn’t really believe in all that change mantra did ya? Take a look at the anointed ones administration and tell me where the change is…..when ya do, get back to me I’d love to hear your explanation.

PS: Saying that, Me and GWB are 50:50…….But quite frankly he F’ed up more than he did good….. YA happy? And yes, I am a true conservative who is a borderline libertarian/secessionist.

How the **** do you smuggle a shark under a jacket?!

Nurse sharks bite, and bite hard if they feel threatened!!

Maybe the convicted felon likes to be bitten, and quite possibly spanked by the sharks tail 😀

True true, just an idea that came into my head.

And Schorsch, don’t tell me you dont think the USAF or some other super secret military outfit isn’t testing alien spaceplanes, of course they are.

Hell, the Aliens must have already landed, half the bozos I run into on the street must have come from a different planet.
